Ice Poseidon Gets Turned Away From Pokémon Center, Then Returns in Disguise

Ice Poseidon's latest run of IRL streams in Japan has already led to trouble at a Pokémon store. Footage from the stream shows security refusing to let the Kick streamer enter while holding what appears to be a printed photo of him.

Ice appeared surprised when he noticed the picture and repeatedly asked why staff had it. No explanation was given in the footage, and there has been no public confirmation from Pokémon that he is permanently banned from its stores.

A staff member stopped him at the entrance, while the photo in her hand appeared to be there specifically to identify him. Ice pointed out the picture on stream and questioned why his face had been printed out.

Clips of the incident quickly spread with claims that Ice had been banned. The footage confirms that he was refused entry at that store, but it does not establish a company-wide or permanent ban. Pokémon has not publicly announced one.

Staff knew who Ice was before he entered and were prepared to stop him, an unusual response even for a streamer whose public broadcasts regularly attract attention.

The Pokémon encounter has not stopped Ice from broadcasting around Japan. His Kick archive shows several recent IRL streams from the country, including broadcasts from Shinjuku, Osaka, and other stops during the trip.

Some of those broadcasts have run for more than seven hours and drawn tens of thousands of views on replay. Ice later returned to the Pokémon store wearing different clothing and a disguise, managed to get inside and shop without initially being recognized, and bought Pokémon cards.

The incident therefore ended with Ice initially being refused entry while security held his photo, before he later returned in disguise and successfully entered the store. There is still no official statement establishing a wider or permanent Pokémon ban.
