Nintendo Rolls Out New Majora's Mask Content Across Nintendo Music, NSO and Nintendo Today

October 6, 2026·3 min read

Nintendo is expanding Majora’s Mask anniversary content with Nintendo Today collectible cards, new Nintendo Switch Online profile icons, and a Nintendo Music release on October 9.

Nintendo is giving The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask a wider push across several of its services as part of the series' 40th anniversary celebrations. A new set of collectible cards is already being distributed through Nintendo Today, Majora's Mask music is coming to Nintendo Music on October 9, and Nintendo Switch Online members can now claim themed profile icon parts.

The rollout does not include a new version of the game. Majora's Mask itself remains available through NINTENDO 64 Nintendo Classics for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members, while the new additions give players more ways to interact with the game outside the original Nintendo 64 release.

Nintendo Today began distributing its Majora's Mask Pack on October 4 as the second set in its Legend of Zelda Collection Cards series. Players receive one card per day featuring a character from Majora's Mask, following the earlier Breath of the Wild collection.

Each card also unlocks a quiz that can be attempted once, and only on the day that card is received. Correct answers award medals that can be exchanged for cards players previously missed or for Zelda-themed wallpapers. Medals work across card packs, meaning they can also be used to recover cards from the earlier Breath of the Wild set.

Unlike the other parts of the current rollout, Nintendo Today does not require a paid Nintendo Switch Online subscription. Nintendo says the smartphone app can be used by anyone with a Nintendo Account.

Music from Majora's Mask will come to Nintendo Music on October 9. Nintendo has confirmed that the addition will include the main theme alongside music from various parts of Link's journey through Termina, although a complete track list has not yet been published.

Nintendo Music requires an active Nintendo Switch Online membership. The service already contains music from games across several generations of Nintendo hardware, and Majora's Mask will become its latest Zelda addition when the new music arrives on October 9.

The new NSO icons require players to launch Majora's Mask first

Nintendo has also added Majora's Mask profile icon parts to Nintendo Switch Online's Missions & Gifts rewards. The icon parts can be exchanged with Platinum Points and used on either Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2.

There is an additional requirement before they can be claimed. Players need to launch Majora's Mask through NINTENDO 64 Nintendo Classics, which means access to the game itself requires Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. The icon promotion is scheduled to run until October 23 at 9:59 a.m. Japan time.

Majora's Mask is already part of the NINTENDO 64 Nintendo Classics library, so the October rollout adds collectibles, profile customization, and music around an existing subscription release rather than introducing a new port or remaster.
