Resident Evil Requiem story DLC reportedly coming after Veronica

July 15, 2026·3 min read
Resident Evil Requiem’s story DLC is reportedly not arriving until after Resident Evil Veronica, the upcoming remake of Code: Veronica. The claim comes from known Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem, who says the expansion is now expected after Capcom’s next remake project.

Capcom has not confirmed the DLC timing, its title or its story content. For now, the report points to a longer wait for Requiem players, with Veronica currently positioned as the next big Resident Evil release in the pipeline.

Requiem DLC may be pushed behind Veronica

The reported plan puts Resident Evil Veronica ahead of Requiem’s story expansion. That would mean Capcom is letting the remake take the spotlight first before returning to Requiem with new story content.

The timing would also make the DLC feel less like a quick post-launch add-on. Requiem launched on February 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC, so a post-Veronica release could push the expansion well beyond the game’s first year.

Capcom has not announced the expansion

Capcom has confirmed Resident Evil Requiem as the ninth mainline entry in the series, but it has not given players a public roadmap for story DLC. The company has also not confirmed whether the reported expansion will focus on Grace Ashcroft, Leon Kennedy or another character.

Requiem already carries more than one thread. The game brought players back to Raccoon City’s legacy while introducing Grace as a new lead and keeping Leon tied to the series’ larger timeline. A story expansion could go in several directions, but none of them are official yet.

Veronica is the next remake in focus

Resident Evil Veronica is Capcom’s remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica, the 2000 survival horror game that followed Claire Redfield after the events of Resident Evil 2. The remake is planned for 2027.

The project is important because Code: Veronica has long sat in an odd place within the series. It is not a numbered entry, but its story is key to Claire, Chris Redfield, Albert Wesker and the wider Umbrella plot. A modern remake gives Capcom a chance to make that chapter easier for new players to follow.

The gap could shape fan expectations

If the report is accurate, Requiem players may have to wait longer than expected for new story material. That could frustrate players who finished the main game and expected DLC to arrive before Capcom moved fully into its next remake cycle.

At the same time, the delay would fit Capcom’s current Resident Evil rhythm. The publisher has been moving between new mainline games and remakes, using both sides of the series to keep interest high without releasing everything at once.

The current status remains unconfirmed

The key detail is that this is still a report, not an official announcement. Capcom has confirmed Resident Evil Requiem, Resident Evil Veronica and Requiem’s current platform lineup, but it has not confirmed the DLC release order.

Resident Evil Requiem is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. Resident Evil Veronica is planned for 2027, and players waiting for Requiem story DLC will need to wait for Capcom’s official update before treating the timing as final.
