Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has received two major updates that add a powerful new enemy and official Steam Workshop support. Patch 14, known as the Confrontation Update, is available across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The update introduces the Scarab Occult Terminator Sorcerer alongside two PvP maps, new Heroic equipment and additional cosmetic DLC. Steam players can also install community-made mods more easily through the newly opened Workshop.
The Scarab Occult Terminator Sorcerer is a new Terminus-class enemy connected to the Thousand Sons. It can appear in every Chaos Operation and throughout Siege mode.
The Sorcerer uses psychic attacks at both close and long range. It can teleport across the battlefield, create copies of itself and fire a powerful beam at players.
Its illusions can make it harder for squads to identify the real enemy while dealing with other Chaos forces. The Sorcerer joins existing Terminus enemies such as the Carnifex, Helbrute and Neurothrope.
Space Marine 2 now has an official Steam Workshop page where players can find and install community-made mods. The feature offers a simpler alternative to downloading files and managing them manually.
Available projects include balance changes, extra classes, new weapons and expanded squad sizes. The Astartes Overhaul adds playable Terminator, Chaplain and Apothecary classes, while other mods allow more players to join co-op missions.
Modded sessions are kept separate from the main game. Players using mods are moved into private lobbies that can be joined through an invitation or lobby code.
Progress made in a modded session is also separated from official progression. A watermark appears on screen to show that the current game is running with mods.
Patch 14 adds Sanctum and Facility to the Eternal War multiplayer mode. Sanctum is a medium-sized arena with open combat spaces and a central area where teams are likely to meet.
Facility is one of the game’s smallest PvP maps. Its tighter design creates more chances for flanking, fast rotations and close-range battles.
The update also adds weekly PvP rewards, new medals and an experimental system that reshuffles teams after matches. All PvP weapons and equipment are now available from Level 1.
Six new Heroic weapons can be unlocked with Accolades, including versions of the Thunder Hammer, Power Fist and Stalker Bolt Rifle. Patch 14 also adds new armour pieces and four difficult Ordeals for experienced players.
Season Pass 2 owners receive the Salamanders Champion Pack 2 and Raptors Cosmetic Pack. Both can also be purchased separately, while the Terminator Sorcerer, PvP maps and gameplay changes are free for all players.
