Spirit Crossing Confirms November 16 Release for Switch, Switch 2, and PC

October 30, 2026·4 min read

Spirit Crossing launches November 16 on PC, Switch and Switch 2, with social exploration, home building and an optional Cozy Club membership.

Spry Fox has confirmed that Spirit Crossing, its upcoming open-world social MMO, will launch on November 16, 2026. The announcement came during the October 28 Nintendo Indie World Showcase, where the developer revealed that the game is also coming to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

The cozy multiplayer adventure will launch simultaneously on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Developed by the studio behind Cozy Grove, Spirit Crossing focuses on exploration, friendships, and community building rather than traditional MMORPG combat. Players can explore a shared world, customize their homes, and help troubled spirits, either alone or alongside other players.

Spirit Crossing takes place in the Crosslands, a colorful world above the clouds where magical storms have disrupted the lives of humans and spirits.

The game encourages players to connect through activities such as fishing tournaments, painting murals, and playing music together. However, social interaction is optional, allowing those who prefer quieter experiences to explore at their own pace.

One of its distinctive features is a friendship system that gradually reveals other players' identities. Strangers initially appear as gray shadows and gain color as relationships develop.

Strengthening friendships also unlocks new interactions, including proximity chat, two-player emotes, gift-giving, and instant teleportation. Players can adjust their social permissions to decide how they interact with others.

Nintendo's official store listing supports up to 100 online players, although Spry Fox has not detailed how that limit applies to individual shared areas.

Beyond its social features, Spirit Crossing offers extensive character customization and building systems. Players can choose from hundreds of clothing designs, hairstyles, colors, and accessories. Homes can also be customized with furniture, plants, rugs, lighting, and decorations.

The building system supports everything from small cottages to larger structures. Players can create private homes or contribute to shared community spaces known as Waystations.

Exploration introduces characters with their own stories and problems, including talking bears, humans, and wandering spirits. Players can complete quests, gather resources, and help restore communities affected by magical storms.

Spry Fox co-founder and CEO David Edery said the team had spent five years developing the game around the idea of helping people form meaningful connections. The November launch will also mark the end of its extended testing period as the studio returns to operating independently.

Spirit Crossing costs $29.99 with an optional Cozy Club membership

Spry Fox has confirmed a $29.99 price in the United States, with regional pricing for other markets. The purchase provides access to the complete game without requiring a subscription. However, the developer will offer an optional membership called Cozy Club to help fund ongoing development, hosting, moderation, and support.

Cozy Club costs $9.99 per month, while a non-recurring 30-day pass will be available for $10.99. Membership benefits include additional shop offers, weekly rewards, extra outfit save slots, and more customization options.

Spry Fox has emphasized that clothing and decorations will not be exclusive to members. The subscription is also not required for normal game progression. Every purchase will include 30 days of Cozy Club membership at no additional cost. Players can redeem that introductory period whenever they choose.

Free Steam demo remains available until November 9

PC players can try Spirit Crossing before launch through its free Steam demo, which will remain available until November 9, 2026. Spry Fox has confirmed that progress from the demo will carry over to the full Steam release. Progress made during the earlier Steam playtest will also be preserved.

The game is available for preorder on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, while PC players can add it to their Steam wishlists.

Nintendo has confirmed that the Switch and Switch 2 editions are separate products. Save data and additional content cannot be transferred between them, and there is no upgrade path between the two versions.

Nintendo Switch Online is also required for online multiplayer on Nintendo consoles. A persistent internet connection is required to play, even when exploring alone.
