Street Fighter 6 Patch Angers Players as Yasmine Arrives

Street Fighter 6 has started Year 4 with the release of Yasmine and a balance update covering the entire roster. However, many players are more focused on their problems with Capcom’s changes than the new fighter.

Many players expected the patch to weaken the strongest fighters and give more help to weaker characters. Instead, several powerful characters received useful upgrades, while some nerfs have been criticised as too severe.

Powerful Fighters Get More Buffs

Much of the frustration is focused on fighters who were already considered strong. JP received improvements to several attacks, while Luke and M. Bison gained new offensive options.

Bison’s Psycho Mine attacks now remove more Drive Gauge when blocked. Other changes expand his combos and make it easier to continue attacking after certain moves.

Players have questioned why these characters received more tools while weaker fighters still struggle at higher levels. The changes have already started new debates about the Year 4 competitive rankings.

Mai Loses A Defensive Option

Mai received one of the patch’s biggest nerfs. Her Level 1 Super Art can now be hit by grounded attacks, making it less useful after she is knocked down.

The change also leaves Mai more vulnerable in Burnout. Capcom also made some of her most-used attacks easier to punish, and some players believe the nerfs are too harsh.

Manon Gets Long-Requested Improvements

Manon received several upgrades, including more combo routes and better tools against projectiles. Her command grab has more active frames, while some normal attacks are easier to use in neutral situations.

The changes should help Manon create pressure without relying entirely on risky grabs. Chun-Li, Cammy, Dhalsim, Zangief and other fighters also received individual adjustments.

Yasmine Opens Street Fighter 6 Year 4

Yasmine is the first fighter in the Year 4 Character Pass. She comes from the Philippines and uses Eskrima techniques alongside a karambit knife.

Her style focuses on fast movement, surprise attacks and long combos. Several special moves place her in Bayani Mode, which gives her access to stronger follow-up attacks.

Yasmine is available through the Year 4 Character Pass, Ultimate Pass or as a separate purchase. Arjun, Final Fantasy 7’s Tifa and Bosch will join the roster later in Year 4.
