VALORANT Patch 13.06 Adds the New Warden Rifle

September 24, 2026·4 min read

Riot’s latest VALORANT update overhauls progression and post-match tracking while adding a third 2,900-credit rifle. Players can also warm up in the Range while queued.

Riot Games has released VALORANT Patch 13.06, introducing the Warden rifle alongside Performance Score, Accolades, Rank Legacy, and Agent Mastery.

The Warden joins the Vandal and Phantom in the 2,900-credit rifle tier with a slower fire rate and 2x scope, while the update also lets players enter the Practice Range while waiting for a match.

The Warden is a new 2,900-credit automatic rifle built as a long-range alternative alongside the Vandal and Phantom. It costs 2,900 credits and uses an 18-round magazine, medium wall penetration, and a 2x scope designed to make it more comfortable at longer distances.

Its damage remains consistent regardless of range, dealing 50 damage to the body, 200 to the head, and 42 to the legs. A headshot can therefore eliminate a fully armored opponent from any distance.

The trade-off comes from its lower fire rate and smaller magazine. The Warden has a 6.5-round-per-second fire rate and an 18-round magazine, giving it a slower firing profile than the other premium rifles.

Performance Score replaces Average Combat Score

Patch 13.06 replaces Average Combat Score with Performance Score across Competitive, Unrated, Swiftplay, and Premier. The new system gives players a score between 0 and 500 and is designed to measure more than kills and raw damage when evaluating a match.

The post-game screen now explains which parts of a performance contributed to that score and how close a player came to earning a Masterful result. MVP awards and scoreboard placement in supported modes are also determined using Performance Score rather than ACS.

Accolades record notable achievements and personal bests in Competitive and Premier. Players can earn recognition for results such as MVP performances or setting new records in particular statistics, with separate tracking for the current Act and lifetime play.

Riot is not applying previous match history to the new system, so Accolade records begin from Patch 13.06.

Rank Legacy gives Competitive players a separate record of the ranks they have reached over time. The Competitive Hub now tracks the ranks players have earned throughout their career. Each existing rank can increase its Rank Legacy counter once every three Acts, while demoting into a rank does not count.

Agent Mastery adds progression for every Agent

Agent Mastery gives each Agent an individual progression path built around Act Levels, Lifetime Levels, rewards, and customizable Agent IDs.

Playing matches with an Agent earns Mastery Points for that character, while wins and stronger performances provide additional progress. Act Levels reset with each new Act, giving players a shorter-term target, while Lifetime Levels remain permanently attached to that Agent.

Each Agent has 10 main Act Levels. Progression unlocks Portrait Accents at Levels 4, 7, and 10, while reaching the maximum level allows players to continue overleveling for the rest of the Act.

Lifetime progression unlocks access to each Agent's Reward Track, which includes rewards from the previous Agent Gear system alongside new unlocks. Players keep Agent Gear items they have already earned, but previous playtime does not count toward Mastery progression.

That means every account begins Patch 13.06 at zero Act and Lifetime Mastery for every Agent.

Players can use the Practice Range while waiting in queue

Players can now enter the Practice Range after beginning matchmaking or start searching for a match while they are already inside the Range.

Riot may hide the feature when matchmaking is expected to be particularly quick. Premier, Deathmatch, and other modes without Agent Select do not support starting a queue from inside the Range.

Patch 13.06 also merges Home and Lobby into a single hub and revamps the post-game experience to show performance, rewards, match details, Agent Mastery, Accolades, and Performance Score more clearly.
