World of Warcraft: Forever Beta Is Getting Increased Weather Effects
Blizzard is responding to beta feedback by increasing environmental effects in selected areas of Azeroth. The exact zones and rollout details have not been revealed.
Blizzard is increasing weather effects in selected World of Warcraft: Forever beta zones after players called for heavier rain, snow and other conditions across Azeroth.
The Warcraft team announced the change on September 23 after acknowledging feedback about the beta's weather. Blizzard has not yet detailed every affected zone or explained whether the update changes weather frequency, intensity, or both.
Blizzard is increasing weather in selected beta zones

The announcement is deliberately narrow. Blizzard said players would soon see "increased weather effects" in certain WoW: Forever beta zones and pointed to future patch notes for the specifics. It did not announce new weather types or say that every zone would receive stronger conditions.
Weather was already present in the beta before the announcement. Players had reported rain and other conditions during the first week of testing, but much of the feedback focused on making those effects more frequent and intense rather than adding weather from scratch.
Blizzard's September 24 beta development notes did not include a separate weather entry, leaving the exact scope and rollout of the changes unclear. The update instead covered class adjustments, bug fixes, interface work and other beta changes.
Players had been asking for harsher storms

Requests for stronger weather gained attention shortly before Blizzard responded. One September 22 discussion specifically called for heavier snowfall, rainstorms, and sandstorms, while arguing that the existing weather effects were not intense enough.
A separate discussion made the same distinction, arguing that weather still existed but lacked the intensity players wanted. Other beta feedback has called for heavier fog, longer rainstorms and more noticeable conditions across zones.
Posts sharing Blizzard's announcement also drew a much larger reaction. As of September 25, the post on the main WoW subreddit had passed 3,000 upvotes, while the version on the dedicated WoW: Forever subreddit had passed 4,000, with players continuing to discuss stronger weather in other areas.
The beta is still changing ahead of the November launch
The weather adjustment also fits Blizzard's wider approach to World of Warcraft: Forever, which places greater emphasis on Azeroth itself. Blizzard has described the reimagined world as a place where the world takes center stage and the journey matters as much as the destination.
The World of Warcraft: Forever beta began on September 17 and is scheduled to run through October 21. The full release is set for November 4, giving Blizzard several more weeks to adjust environmental effects and other parts of the game based on testing and feedback.
