Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is a turn-based strategy game where players lead an empire through the Antiquity, Exploration, and Modern Ages. Choose a historical leader separately from a civilization, found settlements, construct cities and Wonders, research technologies and civics, explore the map, and manage resources, government, and diplomacy. Each civilization has unique units, infrastructure, and abilities. Players can keep the same civilization across all three Ages or transition into another civilization as history progresses, while their chosen leader remains with the empire throughout the campaign. Expansion brings players into contact with rival leaders and Independent Powers, creating opportunities for trade, alliances, treaties, espionage, or war. Influence is used for diplomatic actions, while military forces can be organized around Commander units that gain experience and promotions and help move groups of troops across the map. Players can pursue victories through military, scientific, cultural, or economic development, with optional Triumphs providing additional objectives during a campaign. Civilization VII supports both single-player campaigns and online multiplayer.
