Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds permanently drops to $40 after Year 2 reveal

October 12, 2026·3 min read

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is now $40 cheaper as Sega restructures its editions ahead of Year 2.

Sega has permanently cut the price of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds alongside its Year 2 announcement. The Standard Edition now costs $39.99 instead of $69.99, while the existing Digital Deluxe Edition has fallen from $89.99 to $59.99.

The reductions are permanent rather than part of a temporary sale and are effective immediately. Sega has also introduced a separate Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition for $59.99, giving new buyers a choice between bundles focused on the game's first or second season of crossover content.

The Standard Edition is now $39.99

The $39.99 Standard Edition includes the complete base game without either paid Season Pass. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds supports solo and multiplayer racing, with local multiplayer for up to four players and online races supporting as many as 12.

The new price represents a $30 reduction from its previous $69.99 cost. The change applies across the platforms where CrossWorlds is sold, including PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.

The $59.99 Digital Deluxe Edition includes Year 1 DLC

Sega's existing Digital Deluxe Edition has dropped to $59.99 and combines the base game with Season Pass One. That pass includes six crossover packs based on Minecraft, SpongeBob SquarePants, PAC-MAN, Mega Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Avatar Legends.

Those packs add guest racers, vehicles, courses and additional cosmetic or music content. Buyers interested primarily in the first year's crossover lineup can therefore get the base game and Season Pass One for $20 more than the new Standard Edition price.

A physical Year One Edition is also available for $59.99 at selected retailers. It includes the Standard Edition, Season Pass One, a 35th Anniversary reversible cover and a 35th Anniversary logo patch.

Year Two has its own $59.99 Deluxe Edition

The newly introduced Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition also costs $59.99, but it contains different DLC. Instead of Season Pass One, buyers receive the $39.99 base game and the new $29.99 Season Pass Two.

Season Pass Two begins with the Godzilla Pack on November 3, followed by an Evangelion crossover in January 2027. Later releases include Virtual Sanrio Puroland, SEGALAND, a Final Fantasy 7 Remake-themed Midgar Pack and a Persona series Reload Revival Royal Pack.

Sega warns existing CrossWorlds owners not to buy the Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition because it includes another copy of the base game. Existing players can instead purchase Season Pass Two separately for $29.99.

Year 2 begins on November 3

Season Pass Two also includes Sega controller decals and upcoming vehicles inspired by the Genesis, Saturn and Dreamcast. Players who own both Season Pass One and Season Pass Two will additionally receive Super Shadow and the Super Dark Flare machine.

Year 2 officially begins on November 3 with free additions including Bayonetta, Duel Mode and changes to the gadget system. The permanent price reduction means new players can now enter Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds for $39.99 before the next year of free updates and paid crossover content gets underway.
