How Legacy took control of the FISSURE Playground 3 final

Legacy won FISSURE Playground 3 in Suzhou on September 13, beating G2 3-0 in the grand final and taking home $165,000.

The first two maps were closer than the final score suggests. G2 led on Ancient and cut a six-round deficit on Mirage to two, but Legacy kept both maps from reaching a late decider. Dust2 was different. Legacy took the first five rounds, reached halftime 8-4 ahead and never conceded another one.

Latto finished the final with 69 kills and a 1.67 rating, securing the MVP after a tournament in which Legacy won five straight series and dropped only two maps.

Legacy's tournament opened with a difficult series against magic. After losing its own Dust2 pick, Mirage went to overtime before Legacy won the decider 16-14.

Dumau led the team in that opener, with Latto finishing behind three teammates in the series ratings. Against Alliance, latto moved to the top of Legacy's scoreboard as the team allowed only ten rounds across Inferno and Dust2. The 2-0 win secured a playoff place, while first place in the group still depended on beating FURIA.

Both maps against FURIA reached halftime at 6-6. Legacy then won seven of eight attacking rounds on Mirage and conceded only three defensive rounds on Ancient. latto led the series with 37 kills against 19 deaths, and every Legacy player finished with a positive kill differential.

Beating FURIA gave Legacy the group win and a direct semifinal berth. FURIA dropped into the quarterfinals, where G2 later eliminated it.

Legacy was two players against five while trailing MIBR 7-9 on Nuke, but recovered the round on the lower bombsite and kept the map close. arT later won a one-against-two on the same site at 10-10 before Legacy closed Nuke 13-10.

Ancient went the other way. Legacy had built a 9-4 lead and was four rounds from the final before nqz and LNZ helped MIBR win nine of the next eleven rounds. The deciding Inferno also went to overtime. At 15-14, Legacy was again down to two players against five around the B site. n1ssim found four kills and ended the series 16-14.

latto stayed productive across all three maps, finishing with a match-high 60 kills. n1ssim supplied the round that put Legacy into the final, leaving both with strong MVP cases before the G2 series.

G2 reached the final after recovering from an opening loss to Astralis and then beating FURIA and BETBOOM in the playoffs. Ancient was Legacy's pick, but G2 controlled much of the first half.

Five consecutive defensive rounds gave G2 the halftime lead, and the second pistol moved the score to 8-5. G2 was in position to extend that lead against weaker weapons, but Legacy won the following force buy and then took another four rounds.

The opening duels kept putting G2 at a disadvantage. Legacy won 15 of Ancient's first 22, with latto responsible for six opening kills without dying first once. At 10-9, G2 still had a chance to level the score, but latto found two kills in a three-against-three and Legacy moved to 11-9.

G2 did not win another round. Legacy took Ancient 13-9 despite losing both pistols and went onto G2's map pick with a 1-0 lead.

G2 picked Mirage and immediately fell behind. try opened the map with four USP kills, and an AWP triple from short helped Legacy build a five-round lead. latto finished the defensive half with 16 kills and five deaths as the score reached 9-3.

G2 made the second half competitive. Even after losing the pistol, it won five consecutive defensive rounds, including a huNter- ace, and cut the deficit to 10-8.

Legacy had lost a 9-4 lead to MIBR on Ancient only a day earlier, so another comeback was starting to take shape. G2 never got any closer.

Legacy stopped the run before the score could reach level. n1ssim and dumau supplied more of the attacking kills after the switch, while try finished the half with only one after doing much of his work on defense.

G2 won seven rounds on its CT side, but the 9-3 first half had left too much ground to recover. Legacy closed Mirage 13-10.

Down 2-0, G2 now had to win Dust2 before it could even reach its own Inferno pick.

Dust2 had already been useful to both teams in Suzhou. G2 beat FURIA 13-3 there in the quarterfinal, while Legacy returned to the map after losing it to magic and used it in the win over Alliance.

latto recorded multiple kills in all five closing rounds. Across that defensive half, he killed 12 opponents and died once. The final map lasted only 17 rounds, making it both the shortest and most one-sided of the series.

The 13-4 result ended the best-of-five before Inferno or Cache were needed. Latto had now led the scoreboard on all three maps. His 69 kills were 22 more than his nearest teammate, while the 1.67 rating put clear distance between him and the other MVP candidates after n1ssim had remained close through the semifinal.

The Suzhou trophy joins Legacy's CS Asia Championships titles from 2025 and 2026, with latto taking the MVP at all three. After two close maps, Dust2 finally broke the final open. Legacy won the last five rounds without reply and closed out its third title in China.
