Battlefield 6 Gets Game of the Year Edition and $30 Weapon Shortcut Kit
Battlefield 6 introduces a Game of the Year Edition and a $29.99 shortcut kit that unlocks weapons and equipment, while EA Play and Game Pass add the standard game.
Electronic Arts has released a Game of the Year Edition for Battlefield 6, alongside a $29.99 Ultimate Shortcut Kit that immediately unlocks weapons, gadgets and vehicle upgrades. Both arrived on October 13, 2026, the same day the shooter became available through EA Play and Xbox Game Pass.
The new edition bundles the base game with progression unlocks, premium Battle Pass rewards and cosmetic items. However, EA has confirmed that Game Pass subscribers only receive access to the standard game. The Game of the Year Edition must be purchased separately.
$30 Ultimate Shortcut Kit unlocks weapons and vehicle upgrades

The Ultimate Shortcut Kit allows players to bypass much of Battlefield 6's original weapon and equipment progression. It includes separate shortcut packs for all four classes: Assault, Support, Engineer and Recon.
Each class pack provides seven weapons and two vehicles at 100% Mastery, along with its corresponding training path and gadgets. Assault, Support and Recon receive four gadgets each, while Engineer receives seven.
The package also includes the Mortal Shriek dog tag and Field Training: Cross Trained player title. According to EA, these unlocks cover base-game weapons, gadgets and vehicle upgrades. They do not automatically grant every weapon introduced through later seasonal updates.
The Ultimate Shortcut Kit is available separately for $29.99 and can be used with either Battlefield 6 or the free-to-play Battlefield REDSEC. Players can access the included equipment without completing the usual progression requirements.
Game of the Year Edition bundles the shortcut kit with Battlefield Pro

The new Game of the Year Edition includes the complete Battlefield 6 base game, Ultimate Shortcut Kit and a Battlefield Pro token. The token provides access to one season's premium Battle Pass, 25 tier skips and additional exclusive rewards.
Players also receive the Phantom Pack, which includes four soldier skins, weapon cosmetics, a vehicle skin, a dog tag and XP boosts. A new Trusted Reserve soldier skin for the Pax Armata faction is included.
The complete Game of the Year Edition normally costs $99.99 in the US, but is currently discounted to $59.99 on Steam and Xbox. The promotional price is available until October 20 on Steam and October 23 on Xbox.
EA has also introduced a $30 Game of the Year Upgrade for players who already own the base game. This provides the additional content without requiring another purchase of Battlefield 6. The previous Phantom Edition is no longer available for purchase. Existing Phantom Edition owners automatically receive the Trusted Reserve skin and can purchase the upgrade for the remaining additions.
The Game of the Year Edition is available digitally, with no physical release announced.
Battlefield 6 joins Game Pass, but the new edition is not included
Battlefield 6 became available through EA Play on October 13, allowing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers to access the full base game.
Eligible subscribers can play the campaign and multiplayer while their subscription remains active. EA Play members can also claim the Deployment Pack, Season 5 EA Play Pack and recurring seasonal rewards.
Game Pass Ultimate members receive EA Play benefits, including a 10% discount on eligible EA digital purchases. The discount applies to products such as the Ultimate Shortcut Kit and Battlefield Pro.
However, subscription access does not include the Game of the Year Edition or its bundled progression unlocks. Players who want those additional rewards must purchase the relevant upgrade or shortcut kit separately.
