Wales Interactive and Peacebreak Studio have revealed Beaten Path for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The turn-based tactical RPG will launch in 2027 through Steam, the Epic Games Store, and consoles.
The announcement brings the previously crowdfunded game to consoles and pushes its release beyond the original 2026 target. A release date and price have not been announced.
Beaten Path began as a solo-developed project from Peacebreak Studio. Its Kickstarter campaign reached its initial $20,000 goal in less than a week, with console versions later offered as stretch goals.
A new publishing deal with Wales Interactive now confirms releases across PC and all listed consoles. The Nintendo version is currently announced for the original Switch, with no Switch 2 edition confirmed.
Battles take place on grid-based maps, where players use terrain, positioning, abilities, and different party setups to win each encounter.
Characters can use dual-class loadouts that combine different roles. Players can also adjust skills, equipment, stat bonuses, and outfits while building a party from 25 recruitable, fully voiced characters.
The story follows Panna as she travels through a world shaped by fallen gods and ancient machines. Her journey centres on recovering her memories and uncovering her connection to an earlier war.
Time loops also play a role in the plot. The reveal trailer shows Panna and her companions crossing forests, frozen regions, coastlines, settlements, and ruins before entering tactical battles.
Beaten Path includes a 3D overworld rather than moving players directly between combat stages. Its locations feature changing weather, landmarks, optional paths, and story events.
Peacebreak Studio has said the game will give exploration and world-building more attention than many tactical RPGs. Missions will also use varied objectives instead of always asking players to defeat every enemy.
Beaten Path can now be wishlisted on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Wales Interactive has not announced pre-orders or a narrower launch window beyond 2027.
