ProbablyMonsters has announced that gothic action RPG Crimson Moon will launch on September 1, 2026. The game is coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The standard edition will cost $19.99, while a Deluxe Edition will be available for $29.99. Crimson Moon can be played alone or through two-player online co-op.
Crimson Moon takes place in the fallen city of Gildenarch, which has been overrun by demons, vampires, undead creatures and Hellgrowth monsters. Players control a Nephilim, a half-human and half-angel warrior created to protect humanity.
The Nephilim serves the Order of the Crimson Moon and must fight through the city’s corrupted districts. The journey eventually leads to battles against powerful creatures known as the Dead Gods.
Players can use melee weapons, supernatural powers and angelic transformations. Combat includes parries, executions and special attacks that change depending on the enemy.
Players begin missions from the Church, which acts as the game’s main base. They can speak with characters, improve equipment and choose their next mission from the War Table.
Successful runs unlock new missions, modifiers and skill challenges. Temporary Nephilim powers can also change how a character fights during each attempt.
Players can select their preferred difficulty, with harder missions offering better rewards. The developers say encounters will change as players move deeper into Gildenarch.
Every mission can be completed alone or with another player through online co-op. Enemy numbers and difficulty will adjust depending on whether one or two people are playing.
Co-op partners share a limited pool of lives during each mission. Fallen players can be revived, but every death brings the team closer to losing the run.
Players can combine their weapons and abilities to create different builds. The system is designed to make teamwork useful rather than simply adding another person to deal damage.
The Deluxe Edition includes the Ceremonial Armor Set and Axe of the Gods, a guitar-shaped weapon. It also gives players access to an upcoming post-launch content expansion.
Standard Edition owners can later purchase a $10 upgrade to receive the Deluxe content. PlayStation 5 players who buy either edition will also receive the Sonai Magistrate Armor Set. Crimson Moon launches through Steam and the Epic Games Store on PC alongside its console versions on September 1.
