Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Direct set for August 4

Nintendo has announced a special Direct presentation focused entirely on Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. The broadcast will air on August 4 and feature around 20 minutes of new information about the upcoming strategy RPG.

The presentation begins at 7:00 a.m. PT, 10:00 a.m. ET and 3:00 p.m. BST. Fans can watch it through Nintendo’s website, YouTube channels and the Nintendo Today mobile app.

Nintendo has not revealed exactly what will appear during the Direct. However, the presentation gives the company time to explain the game’s story, characters, battles and activities ahead of its September release.

Fortune’s Weave has already received several trailers, but many of its systems remain unclear. The Direct may provide a closer look at how its four stories connect and what players can do between battles.

The presentation is only focused on Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. Nintendo has not suggested that other Switch or Switch 2 games will appear.

Fortune’s Weave takes place in Dagsion, the capital of the Dagdan Empire. Fighters from across the land travel there to compete in the Heroic Games, with the winner receiving one wish.

The story follows four heroes named Cai, Theodora, Leda and Dietrich. Each enters the competition for a different reason, and players will follow their separate paths as they build armies and fight for victory.

Nintendo has suggested that all four characters are tied to the fate of the world. The Direct could explain more about their personal goals and how their stories eventually come together.

Fortune’s Weave keeps the series’ turn-based tactical combat. Players move units across battlefields, use each character’s strengths and activate special abilities to defeat opposing armies.

Between matches, players can explore the world, recruit allies and train their forces in Dagsion. They can also fight bandits and monsters, search dungeons and collect resources. Preparation time is limited, meaning players will need to choose carefully how they strengthen each hero’s army before the next match.

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on September 17, 2026. The game is being developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo.

A Dagdan Collection will include the game, a steel case, an artbook, character cards and a map of Dagda. More details about the game and its different editions are expected during the August 4 Direct.
