10 Biggest Switch 2 Games and Expansions Still Coming in 2026

July 15, 2026·6 min read
Elden Ring, a new Onimusha, and a ground-up Ocarina of Time remake are just the start of what's still on Switch 2's calendar before the year is out.
Switch 2 has already built an impressive library in its first year, but the back half of 2026 is shaping up to be just as busy. Between now and December, the console is getting a mix of long-awaited exclusives, acclaimed RPGs finally arriving on Nintendo hardware, and the first new Call of Duty to launch on a Nintendo console in more than a decade.
Some of these have locked release dates, while others are still sitting on a vague "2026" window that could shift at any point. Either way, this is what's actually left to look forward to, ordered by when we currently expect each one to land.

1. Lies of P: Complete Edition

NEOWIZ
  • August 6
Neowiz's Pinocchio-themed soulslike first launched on other platforms back in 2023 and quickly earned a reputation as one of the best non-FromSoftware games in the genre. The combat is punishing but fair, built around a parry system that rewards reading enemy timing over button-mashing, and the gothic, mechanical version of Krat it's set in is one of the more striking soulslike settings in recent memory.
The Switch 2 release is the Complete Edition, bundling the original game with the Overture prequel expansion rather than offering the base campaign alone.

2. Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition

  • August 28
FromSoftware's 2022 Game of the Year finally makes its way to Nintendo hardware. Elden Ring's open world, created with worldbuilding contributions from George R.R. Martin, remains one of the most influential releases of the decade, and getting it running on a portable Switch 2 is a genuine technical milestone for the console.
The Tarnished Edition includes the original game, the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, and additional weapons, armor, and customization options. For anyone who's spent years watching this one from the sidelines on other platforms, this is the version that finally makes it possible to explore the Lands Between on the go.

3. Onimusha: Way of the Sword

  • September 4
Capcom's first new mainline Onimusha game in twenty years launches across every platform, including Switch 2. It's a third-person samurai action-adventure built on the same demon-slaying foundation the series made its name on, and interest has been building steadily since the Onimusha 2 remaster released the previous year.
This is one of the few major returning franchises getting a completely new entry in 2026 rather than another remake, remaster, or port.

4. Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave

  • September 17
The latest mainline entry in Nintendo's long-running tactical RPG series arrives as a Switch 2 exclusive. Set in the Dagdan Empire, the story revolves around the Heroic Games, a competition whose winner is promised the fulfilment of a single wish.
Fire Emblem entries live or die on the strength of their cast and map design, and Fortune's Weave is one of the few major first-party Nintendo releases confirmed for the back half of the year, making it one of the console's most anticipated exclusives regardless of how the rest of the roadmap shakes out.

5. Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen

  • October 9
One of the best-reviewed games of 2024 makes its Nintendo debut on Switch 2, and it isn't just a straight port. Dark Arisen bundles the open-world action RPG with a substantial expansion, while players who already own the base game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, or PC will be able to buy the new content separately rather than repurchasing everything.
The original Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen already appeared on Nintendo Switch, but this marks Dragon's Dogma 2's first release on Nintendo hardware.

6. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4

For years, Call of Duty on Nintendo hardware meant compromises or no version at all. Modern Warfare 4 changes that by launching simultaneously on Switch 2 alongside its PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC counterparts.
Its campaign centers on a fictional modern conflict on the Korean Peninsula, beginning with a full-scale North Korean invasion. Whether the Switch 2 version holds up technically against the other console and PC editions remains to be seen, but simply getting day-one parity with the industry's biggest shooter franchise is a genuine milestone for the platform.

7. Metaphor: ReFantazio

  • November 12
Atlus's high-fantasy RPG, built by much of the team behind the modern Persona games, was one of the most acclaimed releases of 2024, and it's finally coming to Nintendo hardware.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is launching in the same month as GTA VI, which is a bold scheduling choice, but its distinctive identity, strong reputation, and combat system — combining turn-based battles with faster real-time encounters — should help it stand apart in an unusually crowded release window.

8. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

  • 2026
Nintendo confirmed that the 1998 N64 classic is being rebuilt for a new generation during its June Direct, but the announcement came with almost nothing beyond a short teaser and a broad 2026 release window.
Ocarina of Time still holds the top spot on Metacritic's all-time rankings, and Nintendo has described the new version as the classic being reborn exclusively for Switch 2. No exact release date has been confirmed, so any suggestion that it will arrive late in the year remains speculation for now.

9. The Duskbloods

  • 2026
FromSoftware's original multiplayer game for Switch 2 brings up to eight players together in a PvPvE structure that combines direct competition with battles against computer-controlled enemies. Some matches will revolve around last-player-standing conditions, while others may encourage temporary cooperation against powerful bosses.
Set in a Victorian-inspired vampire world unlike anything the studio has built before, The Duskbloods carries a lot of weight as one of the console's few true exclusives from a major non-Nintendo developer. It could help prove that Switch 2 can attract ambitious original projects rather than relying primarily on ports and remasters.

10. Hollow Knight: Silksong – Sea of Sorrow

  • 2026
Silksong itself only launched in 2025 after nearly a decade of waiting, so news of its first major expansion arriving as soon as 2026 is almost hard to believe. Sea of Sorrow is expected across every platform Silksong is available on, including Switch 2.
No specific release date has been announced beyond 2026, making Sea of Sorrow one of the least predictable entries on the calendar. Even so, the prospect of another substantial journey through Silksong's world is enough to make it one of the most anticipated releases still expected this year.
