Kingdom Come 3 2027 window sounds too good to be true
June 24, 2026·4 min read
A new Kingdom Come game coming as early as 2027 sounds exciting, but it also sounds a little too neat. Fans just spent years waiting for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, then watched Warhorse support it with updates and DLC. Now the studio is already talking about another trip back into that world, and the timeline is what makes people pause.
Warhorse has confirmed that a new Kingdom Come game is in development. The studio has also said the project is an open-world RPG and is currently aiming for Embracer’s next fiscal year, which points to a possible window between April 2027 and March 2028. What it has not done is officially call the game Kingdom Come 3.
The 2027 target is tempting
It is easy to see why fans want to believe the window. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was a big step forward for Warhorse, with a larger world, stronger quests, better production values, and a clearer sense of what the series can be. A follow-up that arrives only a few years later would be a dream for players who do not want another long wait.
Warhorse is not selling this as a fully revealed sequel yet. The studio has only confirmed a new Kingdom Come open-world RPG, with more details planned for a proper announcement later. That leaves room for a direct sequel, a smaller spin-off, or a project that uses the same world in a different way.
That does not make the news bad. It just means fans should not treat the 2027 target like a finished release date.
Warhorse has a lot on its plate
The other reason to be careful is Warhorse’s current workload. The studio is not only making another Kingdom Come game. It is also working on a new open-world RPG set in Middle-earth, which is a major project on its own.
Warhorse is known for detailed worlds, grounded systems, historical texture, and RPGs that take time to build properly. Even if the new Kingdom Come project is already far along, a window starting in 2027 still feels tight.
If this is a full follow-up to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, players will expect a lot. If it is smaller, Warhorse will need to explain that clearly so fans do not walk in expecting the next giant sequel.
The series does not work when rushed
Kingdom Come is not built like a simple action sequel. Its appeal comes from slow travel, messy fights, social systems, historical detail, and quests that feel rooted in the world. Those things take time, and they are the reason players trust the series.
That is why the 2027 window feels both exciting and suspicious. A faster release would be great if Warhorse has planned well and split its teams early. It would be worrying if the game is being pushed to fill a schedule before it has enough room to breathe.
Fans do not need the next Kingdom Come game to arrive as soon as possible. They need it to feel as careful as the series demands.
The next reveal needs clear wording
The smartest move for Warhorse is to be very direct when it shows the game properly. Players need to know whether this is Kingdom Come 3, a spin-off, a side story, or something else inside the same world.
A 2027 window will only feel believable once Warhorse shows gameplay, explains the scope, and gives fans a better idea of how long the project has been in development.
For now, the news is promising, but it should be treated with patience. A new Kingdom Come RPG is coming, and that is enough to get fans interested. Calling it a near-2027 lock is where the excitement starts moving faster than the facts.
