Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 adds new maps, modes and DMZ content on November 6
October 31, 2026·3 min read
Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 launches November 6 with three multiplayer maps, new weapons, returning modes, DMZ's X01 Black Site and Warzone integration.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is getting its first full season on November 6, less than two weeks after launch. Infinity Ward has confirmed new multiplayer maps, returning modes, weapons, events and a substantial expansion for DMZ.
Season 1 goes live at midnight ET on November 6, or 9 p.m. PT on November 5, across all supported platforms. The update will also begin Modern Warfare 4’s full integration with Call of Duty: Warzone.
Three multiplayer maps arrive at launch

Season 1 adds two brand-new 6v6 maps, Backstab and Canyon, alongside a reimagined version of Shoot House. Backstab takes players into a snow-covered war zone filled with damaged buildings and long sightlines, while Canyon mixes open terrain with cliffs, caves and elevated positions.
Shoot House keeps its recognizable three-lane structure but relocates the familiar training-ground layout to a snowy North Korean setting. Ministry and Overflow are scheduled for the mid-season Reloaded update alongside additional maps that Infinity Ward has not yet revealed.
The recently released Shipment also remains available, while Kill Block receives a static Crash configuration built from three slabs selected using feedback from the MW4 beta.
Grind and Drop Zone return with a new 1v1 mode
Grind returns at Season 1 launch, asking players to collect dog tags from eliminated enemies and deposit them at banks to score. Drop Zone also returns with teams fighting over a rotating objective that periodically delivers random Killstreak packages.
Gauntlet 1v1 will arrive through the Wager Match Event. Players wager event trophies in Gunfight matches, with winners remaining to face another opponent and earning additional rewards through successive victories.
More modes are planned for Season 1 Reloaded, including Counter Attack. Infected and Possession have already joined MW4 during the pre-season Halloween rollout.
DMZ opens the X01 Black Site

DMZ receives a new location called X01, an underground GRANIT Arms facility accessible through the Hajin Exclusion Zone. The site contains cargo bays, vehicle depots, laboratories and a sealed Deep Vault filled with new enemies and equipment.
Ghost serves as the Watcher for X01 missions and guides squads through new Orders as they move deeper underground. Season 1 also adds Commander Hunts, new extraction challenges and further upgrades to the Forward Operating Base.
Two new weapons join the Battle Pass
The Cronen Osprey Assault Rifle and CSG-35 SMG arrive through the Season 1 Battle Pass. The CSG-35 fires at 1,200 rounds per minute, while an Apex Attachment allows players to dual-wield two of the SMGs.
Later in the season, players can unlock the full-auto JAK 12 Shotgun and ZLR Talonhawk melee weapon through events. Warzone will also receive the new Hajin and Zodiac maps alongside returning Verdansk and Rebirth Island when the Modern Warfare 4 integration begins on November 6.
