TimTheTatman joked that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 looked better to him after watching Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026.
The streamer held a watch party for the August 25 showcase after playing the Modern Warfare 4 beta earlier that day. As the presentation ended, Tim said, "Honestly, after watching all that, MW4 ain't so bad."
Tim's comment came as a reaction to the full Opening Night Live presentation rather than any single game reveal. He had told viewers before going live that he planned to play the MW4 beta until it went offline and could follow it with a Gamescom watch party.
Tim did single out Gears of War: E-Day for praise. After the showcase, he posted on X that the game's campaign "looks impressive."
Tim's Gamescom reaction does not mean his concerns about Modern Warfare 4 have disappeared. During the beta period, he criticized skill-based matchmaking and argued that casual playlists should allow a wider range of skill levels while ranked modes match players more closely.
Tim returned to the beta on August 25 before moving into his Gamescom watch party after the Early Access period ended.
Infinity Ward has been making changes throughout the beta in response to player feedback. When the Early Access period ended on August 25, the studio said it was continuing to work on issues including spawns, time-to-kill, and movement before the next round of testing.
