Pokémon Unite is shutting down in March 2027 after nearly six years
October 28, 2026·3 min read
Pokémon Unite servers will shut down on March 23, 2027. A final event and downloadable Library will preserve selected player records and cosmetics.
Pokémon Unite is shutting down worldwide on March 23, 2027, ending the free-to-play MOBA’s run on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices nearly six years after its original launch.
The Pokémon Company confirmed that servers will close at 00:00 UTC on March 23. After that point, players will no longer be able to log in or participate in battles, although a new offline-style Library feature will preserve access to selected records and previously obtained content.
Aeos Gem sales have already been suspended

The shutdown process has started well ahead of the final server closure. Sales of Aeos Gems were suspended on October 27 at 05:00 UTC, although players can continue spending any Gems already attached to their accounts until service ends.
New UNITE Club memberships and automatic renewals were also stopped at the same time. Existing members will continue receiving their benefits until the end of their current membership periods rather than losing access immediately.
The Pokémon Company has not provided a specific reason for closing the game. Pokémon Unite originally launched for Nintendo Switch on July 21, 2021 before expanding to iOS and Android later that year.
A final event starts in November
Players will receive one last major update on November 12, introducing a special event designed to run through the remaining months of service. It will add Unite Coins that can be earned through log-in bonuses, missions and battles.
Those coins can be exchanged for previously released items including Unite licenses, Holowear, Trainer clothing and customization items. The event gives players an opportunity to unlock older content before the live game becomes inaccessible.
Competitive play will also continue into 2027. The previously announced Pokémon UNITE Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo tournament is still going ahead, with qualifier events beginning on December 5.
A Library will preserve some player progress

The November update will also introduce a Library feature that can remain usable after the servers shut down. It will allow players to view owned Unite licenses, Holowear, Trainer fashion, achievements, tournament participation and other collected material.
Players must download the required Library data before the March 23 shutdown to retain access afterward. The data generally cannot be transferred between devices, and official support for the Library will end once the live service closes.
Battle items, held items and Boost Emblems will remain viewable through the Library, but they will no longer have gameplay functionality once online battles disappear.
Pokémon Unite will become unplayable after March 23
Unlike games that receive an offline mode when their servers close, Pokémon Unite will no longer support matches after service ends. The Library preserves selected records and cosmetics, but it does not turn the MOBA into a playable offline game.
The worldwide closure follows an earlier regional withdrawal from Belgium and the Netherlands, where service ended in November 2025. For players elsewhere, March 23, 2027 will now mark the final day to enter Aeos Island and play Pokémon Unite.
