29+ PS5 and PS Plus Games Are Coming This Week

PS5 has a packed release schedule for the final week of August, with at least 24 games currently scheduled to arrive between August 25 and August 28. The lineup includes Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, Once Human, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, and Star Wars Zero Company.
PlayStation Plus Extra is adding another five games on August 25 in the US, UK, and Japan. That brings the currently confirmed lineup to at least 29 games across new PS5 releases and subscription additions. Individual release dates can vary slightly by region and PlayStation Store timing.
Four new PS5 games are scheduled for Tuesday, led by Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 and the console release of Once Human.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 expands the co-op shooter to support teams of up to four Colonial Marines battling Xenomorph swarms. It also introduces deeper squad mechanics, new classes and weapons, and a customizable Specialist class.
Once Human brings Starry Studio's free-to-play supernatural survival game to PS5. The console release adds a first-person perspective alongside its existing third-person view, with cross-play and cross-progression also supported from launch.
Thursday carries most of the week's currently confirmed releases, with 17 games scheduled for PS5. Several of the week's biggest titles arrive together, including Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, and Star Wars Zero Company.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 brings Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and the HD Collection version of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker to the collection. Metal Gear: Ghost Babel is also included as bonus content.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy takes place 15 years before A Plague Tale: Requiem and shifts the focus to Sophia. The prequel follows the plunderer to Minotaur Island, combining action, stealth, puzzles, and a new story connected to her past.
Star Wars Zero Company is a single-player turn-based tactics game set during the Clone Wars. Players lead Hawks and a customizable squad of operatives that can include character types such as clone troopers, scoundrels, astromechs, and Jedi.

Three more PS5 games are currently scheduled for Friday, led by Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters.
Bandai Namco's arcade-style soccer game features 22 national teams and more than 110 playable characters, along with new super moves and a story following Tsubasa Ozora on the road to the World Youth Championship.
Iridio also reaches PS5 with an open-world action-adventure built around exploring an island, crafting equipment, fighting enemies, and using elements such as fire and water during combat and puzzles.
PlayStation Plus Extra members in the US, UK, and Japan are getting another five Game Catalog additions on August 25. Sony made these titles available earlier in August in other regions.
