Sephiria looks like the sort of game where a rabbit might ask for help watering flowers. Instead, it sends that rabbit down a tower packed with demons, dangerous rooms, and bosses that can end a strong run in seconds. The softer art gets attention, but the action underneath is why players are staying.
TEAM HORAY's roguelite left Early Access on July 31 and quickly climbed past 25,000 concurrent players on Steam. The easy comparison is Stardew Valley mixed with Enter the Gungeon, although the farming idea ends with the cosy animal village. Most of the game is about combat, changing builds, and surviving one more floor with friends.

Bunnyville gives every run a warm starting point before the tower replaces it with narrow rooms, sudden attacks, and enemies that punish careless movement. Players can dash, block, parry, and charge attacks, so fights reward timing instead of constant button presses. The controls are simple enough to learn quickly, but bosses still demand attention.
Six weapon branches let each attempt take a different shape depending on what appears. One run may favour fast attacks and movement, while another becomes slower and safer through blocking or elemental effects. More than 200 upgrades give those weapons room to change without forcing players into one obvious answer every time they enter the tower.
The Stardew Valley comparison mostly comes from the colourful pixel art, animal residents, and friendly town rather than the way the game is played. Sephiria has no farming calendar waiting between runs. Its closer link to Enter the Gungeon comes from room-based fights, repeated attempts, quick dodges, and builds that can change after one lucky drop.

Artifacts provide much of the power, but collecting the strongest ones is only half the job. Players must place them around tablets inside a limited inventory, with each position changing how bonuses work. A valuable item can become far less useful when it sits in the wrong space, turning every backpack into a small puzzle between fights.
That system gives the game more personality than a normal list of passive bonuses. Players regularly stop to rotate pieces, move tablets, and decide whether one new artifact is worth breaking a working setup. The best runs often come from arranging ordinary items well rather than waiting for one rare reward to solve everything.
With roughly 300 artifacts, around 70 tablets, and more than 30 potions, the possible combinations are large enough to keep early runs unpredictable. Hard-mode options and the complete six-chapter structure give experienced players more to chase after the first clear. The numbers are important less than how often a small inventory change creates a noticeably stronger build.
Online co-op supports up to four players, giving groups room to divide roles without locking anyone into a strict class. One player can handle close-range pressure while another builds around safer damage, blocking, or support effects. That flexibility makes difficult rooms easier to manage while still leaving enough chaos for plans to fall apart.
The full release arrived after 484 days in Early Access and 58 updates, which gave TEAM HORAY time to expand the campaign and respond to player feedback. Multiplayer still has connection and disconnection bugs, and the developer has warned that fixes are continuing. A dropped player can hurt more when the group has spent a long run building around each other.
Sephiria is 40% off on Steam through August 10, with a regular price increase planned after the store's cooldown period. A free demo is also available for anyone unsure about the combat or inventory system. The discount makes this the easiest time to see whether the cute village is enough to pull a group into the tower.
