Silent Hill: Townfall Gets Hard Mode and DLSS Ray Reconstruction in Update 1.6.0

Silent Hill: Townfall Update 1.6.0 adds Hard difficulty, DLSS Ray Reconstruction on PC, improved map navigation and rebalanced enemy behavior.
Konami has released Update 1.6.0 for Silent Hill: Townfall, adding a new Hard difficulty alongside broader balancing changes and PC support for Nvidia DLSS Ray Reconstruction.
The patch went live on October 28 for PlayStation 5, Steam and the Epic Games Store. Konami lists the updated build as version 1.6.155963 on PC and 1.6.156035 on PS5.
Hard difficulty reshapes the challenge options

Hard mode becomes a new step in Townfall’s difficulty curve, giving players another option between the game’s existing settings. Konami has also rebalanced gameplay across every difficulty rather than simply adding tougher enemy values to the new mode.
Resource availability has been adjusted in certain sections, while enemy hearing sensitivity now changes depending on the selected difficulty. Higher settings make enemies more sensitive to noise, increasing the importance of careful movement and stealth when navigating St. Amelia.
The Weight has also received a difficulty-specific adjustment. Reduced attack severity for the creature is now limited to Story Mode, meaning players choosing higher settings will face its more punishing attacks without that protection.
Player location now appears on every map
Update 1.6.0 makes another substantial accessibility change by showing the player’s current position on the map regardless of difficulty. Previously, navigation could demand more manual orientation depending on the chosen settings.
Konami has also added extra tutorials and player hints while improving wording connected to certain puzzles and items. Difficulty-selection descriptions now provide clearer explanations of how the available modes differ before players commit to one.
Valve-status lighting has been adjusted to improve readability for colourblind players. The Options menu has also been reorganized into clearer categories, while the control-remapping entry has been renamed to reflect that keyboard and mouse commands can be customized alongside controller inputs.
