Warzone Enters Its Final Season on PS4 and Xbox One
Call of Duty: Warzone has entered its final season on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with Black Ops 7 Season 06 now live on both consoles ahead of the end of last-generation support.
Activision says existing players can continue playing through the end of Season 06, but Warzone will no longer be playable on PS4 or Xbox One once the Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 transition takes effect. Modern Warfare 4 launches October 23 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, while an exact Season 1 date has not yet been announced.
Season 06 is Warzone's last on PS4 and Xbox One
Season 06 launched on September 17 and marks the final Black Ops 7 season that PS4 and Xbox One players will be able to access through Warzone.
The shutdown is the final step in a process that began in June, when Warzone was removed from the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One digital storefronts on June 4. The game can no longer be newly downloaded on those platforms, although players who already have it in their library can still install and play it during the remaining support period.
The Warzone in-game store was removed from both consoles on June 25, although gameplay still contributes toward overall Battle Pass progression. Players without the premium Battle Pass can also continue unlocking its free tiers through Season 06. Once Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 begins, that remaining access ends and Warzone will no longer be playable on either console.
Progress carries over if players move to supported hardware
Players switching from PS4 or Xbox One will be able to keep their Warzone progression as long as they continue using the same linked Activision account. Activision says full progression and content bought with COD Points will carry over to supported platforms. That means players moving to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC do not need to start their Warzone account from scratch.
COD Point balances have tighter restrictions. The currency is tied to the platform account, so unspent COD Points from PlayStation 4 remain accessible on PlayStation 5, while an Xbox One balance can move to Xbox Series X|S when the same account is used.
Most content purchased directly with real-world currency is also tied to the platform account and can move to a newer console within the same platform family.

The end of Warzone support comes as Modern Warfare 4 also leaves PS4 and Xbox One behind. Modern Warfare 4 launches October 23 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Activision is not releasing the new game on PS4 or Xbox One.
Season 1 will then integrate Modern Warfare 4 content and seasonal progression into Warzone, which is the point when the PS4 and Xbox One versions stop working.
The change applies specifically to Call of Duty: Warzone. Activision says other Call of Duty games originally released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will remain playable on those consoles after Warzone support ends.
