Call of Duty Warzone Season 1 Reveals New Equipment, Modes, and Switch 2 Launch
Warzone Season 1 launches November 6 with Switch 2 support, two maps, Elite Perks and new Resurgence modes.
Activision has revealed the full Call of Duty: Warzone Season 1 roadmap, confirming that the update will launch on November 6, 2026. The announcement also confirms the free-to-play battle royale game's debut on Nintendo Switch 2, alongside new equipment, Elite Perks, and limited-time modes.
The November 2 reveal details several changes to how players move, fight, and customize their loadouts. Two new maps, Hajin and Zodiac, will also arrive as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 becomes fully integrated with Warzone.
Warzone launches on Switch 2 as older console support ends

Season 1 marks the first release of Call of Duty: Warzone on Nintendo Switch 2. Activision confirmed that Nintendo players will be able to access the new Hajin and Zodiac maps, alongside the game's supported playlists, starting November 6.
However, the update will also end support for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Players on those consoles will no longer be able to access Warzone after the transition. Existing account progression can carry over to a supported platform by signing in with the same linked Activision account.
Season 1 goes live at midnight Eastern Time on November 6, equivalent to 9 PM Pacific Time on November 5.
Zipline Launcher and Grabber Drone expand movement and combat options

The November update introduces two new Field Upgrades that give players more ways to interact with the environment. The Zipline Launcher allows squads to create temporary routes between elevated positions. Players can use it to reach rooftops, cross obstacles, or approach enemies from unexpected directions.
Once deployed, the zipline remains active until it is retrieved or destroyed. Enemy players can also use it, making placement an important tactical decision. The Grabber Drone provides another option for navigating dangerous situations. Equipped with a retractable claw, it can collect distant loot, move objects, and retrieve items from Buy Stations.
Players can even use the drone to pick up downed teammates and transport them to safer locations for revives. However, its limited battery life restricts how long it can remain active. Season 1 also introduces movable objects, including fuel barrels, dumpsters, and concrete cylinders. These can be repositioned to create cover, block vehicle routes, or set up explosive traps.
Another addition is Weapon Augments, which provide temporary weapon improvements during matches. Players can obtain these upgrades from Fly Buy Stations delivered by drones. Three Augments will be available at launch: CQC improves close-range handling, Marksman increases accuracy and effective range, and Handling improves reload speed and weapon responsiveness.
Activision is also making Tactical Sprint available to all Operators without requiring a perk. Players will also be able to drag downed teammates while reviving them.
Three Elite Perks introduce a fourth perk slot

Season 1 introduces a new Elite Perk system that expands the existing loadout options. Players will have access to 18 perks in total. Fifteen can be selected before a match across three standard slots, while the remaining three are Elite Perks acquired during gameplay.
Elite Perks occupy a fourth slot and can be obtained through Buy Stations or Supply Run Contracts. Only one can be equipped at a time.
- Athleticism improves movement while strafing, crouching, and aiming down sights. It also reduces aiming penalties when jumping or sliding.
- Phantom allows players to avoid detection by enemy reconnaissance killstreaks, equipment, and perks.
- Fieldcraft provides faster regeneration of armor and equipment, helping players remain effective during extended fights.
Unlike standard perks, these abilities must be acquired during a match rather than selected beforehand.
Rally Point and two Resurgence modes arrive with Season 1
Activision has confirmed three limited-time modes for the November 6 launch. Rally Point introduces a training-focused experience on Zodiac, supporting up to 20 players. The mode removes the closing circle and allows unlimited Resurgence, with players free to join or leave ongoing sessions.
Players can complete contracts, fight hostile soldiers, and experiment with equipment. Neutral Grounds also allow them to form temporary alliances with other players. The mode includes an exclusive weapon blueprint and two weapon camos as unlockable rewards.
Massive Resurgence brings larger battles to Hajin, supporting up to 120 players. It combines the familiar Resurgence redeployment system with a full-scale Battle Royale environment.
Loaded Resurgence takes a different approach. Players begin matches with their chosen loadouts and retain their equipped weapons after elimination. They can also earn additional perks through kills and assists, progressing toward Specialist.
Loaded Resurgence supports up to 44 players on Zodiac. Rebirth Island will join its map rotation when it returns later in the season. Two additional modes, Extreme Resurgence and Rockets and Snipers, are scheduled for the mid-season update.
The new modes will launch alongside Hajin, a large Battle Royale map set across the Korean Peninsula, and Zodiac, a smaller Resurgence map built around a South Korean drone manufacturing facility. Verdansk and Rebirth Island are also confirmed to return later in Season 1, although Activision has not announced their exact release dates.
