Nintendo's Zelda-themed Switch 2 hardware launches October 29
October 7, 2026·3 min read
Nintendo is marking Zelda’s 40th anniversary with a special Switch 2 console and accessories arriving one week before the Ocarina of Time remake.
Nintendo's new The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 hardware will launch on October 29, one week before The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time arrives on November 5. The lineup includes a special-edition Switch 2 console, themed Pro Controller and matching carrying case.
The console costs $519.99 in the United States, compared with $499.99 for the standard Switch 2. Despite arriving alongside Nintendo's anniversary celebrations and the upcoming remake, Ocarina of Time is not included with the system.
The special Switch 2 uses Zelda-themed colors and Triforce designs

Nintendo's 40th Anniversary Edition changes the appearance of the console, dock and Joy-Con 2 controllers. The dock uses a black-and-gold design with a large Triforce symbol, while the back of the system includes patterns and symbols inspired by the Zelda series.
The included Joy-Con 2 controllers use green and gold colors rather than the standard system's usual accents. The package otherwise contains the familiar Switch 2 hardware, including the dock, Joy-Con 2 grip, straps, AC adapter, USB-C cable and HDMI cable.
Nintendo is also releasing a matching Pro Controller
Players who already own a Switch 2 can buy the anniversary Pro Controller separately for $99.99. Nintendo is also offering a $109.99 version bundled with a matching display stand.
A Zelda-themed Switch 2 carrying case and screen protector will arrive on the same day for $39.99. All three accessories use designs based around the franchise's 40th anniversary and its familiar Triforce imagery.
The hardware arrives one week before Ocarina of Time

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time launches exclusively for Switch 2 on November 5 for $59.99. Nintendo is rebuilding the 1998 game with overhauled visuals, fully voiced cutscenes, expanded dialogue, orchestral music and updated movement and camera controls.
The remake also adds manual jumping and running, right-stick camera control and a day-and-night cycle that continues inside towns. Nintendo has also created new Zelda Notes features for its mobile app, including daily statistics, location challenges and an interactive ocarina.
More Zelda hardware is coming after launch
Nintendo's anniversary plans extend beyond the October 29 hardware release. Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo figures are planned for 2027 and will unlock special masks in Ocarina of Time that give Link a retro-style appearance.
An electric Ocarina of Time accessory from HORI is also scheduled for November 5 at $49.99. Nintendo's new Zelda Switch 2 hardware therefore arrives first on October 29, followed by the remake and additional accessories one week later.
