Age Twisters is turning growing older into the central mechanic of its two-player co-op adventure, with a grandfather and granddaughter able to switch between four stages of life while solving puzzles together.
Developed by Barcelona-based Piccolo Studio and published by Krafton, the game follows the pair as they search for the granddaughter's missing mother. Mysterious bracelets allow both characters to move between childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and old age, with each form providing different abilities.

The age system is designed around cooperation rather than acting as a simple character transformation. Different stages of life provide different ways to interact with the world, forcing both players to decide which age is most useful for the problem in front of them. Some forms are better suited to movement, while others provide abilities used in combat, puzzles, or manipulating objects.
Players can change age during the adventure instead of being locked into one version of their character. That allows puzzles to be structured around switching roles and combining abilities rather than giving both players the same tools.
Piccolo Studio is using the mechanic across more than conventional environmental puzzles. The game includes traversal, combat, vehicle sequences, and other activities that ask the pair to cooperate in different ways as they travel together.

The two protagonists were chosen from opposite ends of the age spectrum, giving the game's central mechanic a connection to its story rather than treating the different forms as separate power-ups. As the characters temporarily experience other stages of life, Age Twisters explores how their understanding of one another changes during the journey.
Piccolo Studio is also designing the co-op around players who may have very different levels of gaming experience. That fits the generational theme, particularly for pairs such as parents and children or older and younger family members playing together.
Failure is not intended to heavily punish either player. The studio instead wants experimentation and mistakes to remain part of the cooperative experience, allowing one player to help the other without the game becoming frustrating for less experienced players.
Age Twisters is designed specifically for two players and supports both local and online co-op. For online play, only one person needs to purchase the game. A Friend's Pass allows the second player to join the adventure without owning another copy, making it easier for two people to play through the campaign together.
Piccolo Studio describes Age Twisters as designed from start to finish for two players, keeping cooperation between the two characters at the center of the experience. Age Twisters is scheduled to launch in 2027 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
