Atelier Yumia Switch 2 update improves performance
July 13, 2026·3 min read
Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land has received a new update on Nintendo Switch 2, adding a performance settings option and fixes aimed at frame rate drops. The patch brings the Switch and Switch 2 versions to Ver. 1.61.
The update matters because the Switch 2 Edition launched with visible performance problems, despite being sold as an upgrade with better resolution, improved frame rate, shorter load times and GameShare support. Players who bought the paid upgrade now have the first major fix for those issues.
Switch 2 gets a new performance setting
The main change is a new performance settings option for the Nintendo Switch 2 version. Players can find it under the graphics tab in the options menu.
That gives players more control over how Atelier Yumia runs on Nintendo’s newer hardware. The update also includes improvements designed to reduce frame rate drops and slowed processing on Switch 2, which had been one of the biggest complaints around the upgrade.

The patch follows a rough Switch 2 launch
Atelier Yumia’s Switch 2 Edition arrived in June alongside a paid Upgrade Pack for owners of the original Switch version. It promised better visuals and performance, but early impressions pointed to heavy stuttering, frame rate problems and inconsistent camera movement.
That made the upgrade awkward for players who expected the Switch 2 version to be the best portable way to play. Some players found that the original Switch version running on Switch 2 through backward compatibility felt smoother than the native Switch 2 Edition.
Switch also gets crash fixes
The update is not only for Switch 2. The Nintendo Switch version also gets fixes for problems around the Abandoned Seaside Village.
One fix addresses a bug that could make the Switch version lag or crash near the area. Another fixes a crash that could happen when fast traveling to the Abandoned Seaside Village. The patch also fixes a crash tied to fast forwarding synthesis, along with minor adjustments and bug fixes.
Atelier Yumia remains a broad multiplatform RPG
Atelier Yumia launched in March 2025 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. The Switch 2 Edition followed later as a separate upgrade path for Nintendo’s new system.
The game is the latest main entry in Gust’s long-running Atelier series. It follows Yumia Liessfeldt and her companions across a ruined continent where alchemy is treated as taboo. Like earlier Atelier games, it mixes exploration, item crafting, combat and character progression, but Yumia pushes the series further toward open-field traversal and action-heavy battles.
Players can update now
Version 1.61 is available now for Atelier Yumia on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Switch 2 players should see the new performance settings option after updating, while Switch players get the crash and stability fixes.
The update does not turn the Switch 2 Edition into a new release, but it directly targets the problems that hurt the upgrade at launch. For players who held off because of performance complaints, this patch is the first clear reason to check whether the Switch 2 version is now in better shape.
