Blind Descent Sets December 2 Early Access Release for PC
Blind Descent enters PC Early Access on December 2 with four-player co-op, survival crafting and mutations in an underground Martian world. A multiplayer playtest begins October 14.
Blind Descent, an open-world survival game set beneath the surface of Mars, will launch in Early Access on December 2, 2026. Developer Pokuch and publisher META Publishing confirmed the date alongside a new trailer, revealing when players can begin exploring its dangerous underground world.
The game will be available on PC through Steam, the Epic Games Store and GOG, with solo play and online co-op for up to four players. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are planned for the full release, although a date has not been announced.
Blind Descent takes players into an alien ecosystem beneath Mars

Set in 2071, Blind Descent follows a team sent to investigate the disappearance of an earlier expedition beneath the Martian surface. Their mission goes wrong when an elevator crashes, leaving the survivors stranded in a vast underground ecosystem filled with alien life.
Players must explore the environment, gather resources and investigate what happened to the missing crew. Survival involves studying unfamiliar organisms, crafting tools and building shelters to protect against hostile creatures and environmental hazards.
The underground world reacts to player activity. Alien vegetation and fungal growth can overtake poorly maintained structures, while toxic gases, storms and aggressive creatures create additional dangers during exploration.
Players can also use specialized climbing equipment to navigate cliffs and reach otherwise inaccessible areas. In co-op, groups of up to four can work together to gather resources, construct shelters and investigate the Martian ecosystem.
Players can use mutations or technology to survive

One of Blind Descent's central mechanics allows players to choose how they adapt to the alien environment. They can rely on scientific research and crafted equipment to preserve their humanity or develop biological mutations that provide new abilities.
Consuming certain alien fruits and spores can unlock adaptations that improve combat and exploration. These mutations may also help players survive dangerous conditions as they venture deeper underground.
Alternatively, players can focus on technology, researching local lifeforms and creating equipment to overcome environmental threats. The two approaches offer different ways to develop a character while exploring the same world. Pokuch has not detailed every ability or how these choices will affect the complete story.
Co-op playtest begins October 14 ahead of December launch
Players can try Blind Descent before its Early Access release through a new cooperative playtest scheduled to begin on October 14. Registration is available through the game's Steam page, with access granted to selected participants.
The upcoming test focuses on multiplayer following earlier testing sessions. Pokuch has also been working on improvements to combat, crafting, user interface, visuals and performance based on previous feedback. The developer intends to use the Early Access period to continue refining these systems while expanding the available content.
Full story and additional biomes planned for the final release
According to the game's Steam Early Access information, Pokuch has already implemented its core gameplay mechanics. However, the initial release will feature only part of the planned story.
Future updates are expected to expand the narrative while introducing additional biomes, creatures and resources. The full version is intended to include the complete storyline and further improvements to the survival experience.
The developer currently estimates that Blind Descent could remain in Early Access for approximately one year. That timeline is tentative and may change depending on development progress and community feedback.
The game's Early Access price has not yet been announced.
