Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Joins Xbox Game Pass
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has joined Xbox Game Pass, giving subscribers access to Raven Software and Treyarch's 2020 entry across cloud, console, and PC.
The game was added on September 8 for Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass. Subscribers get access to the Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies rather than a single mode.
Black Ops Cold War brings three main modes to Game Pass

Black Ops Cold War includes Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies, with Multiplayer and Zombies sharing player progression.
Multiplayer takes the series back to its Cold War setting with traditional Call of Duty modes and maps, while Zombies begins the Dark Aether storyline that continued through later Black Ops games. Crossplay also lets Xbox and PC players team up with friends on supported PlayStation platforms.
The campaign puts players on the trail of Perseus

The single-player story takes place in 1981 and follows a CIA-led team hunting Perseus, a Soviet operative believed to be working to shift the balance of the Cold War. Missions take players through locations including East Berlin, Vietnam, Turkey, and the Soviet KGB headquarters.
Alex Mason, Frank Woods, and Jason Hudson return from the earlier Black Ops games, while Russell Adler joins the group as one of Cold War's central characters. Players take the role of Bell, whose background can be customized before joining Adler's team.
Players can also collect evidence for optional missions, choose dialogue responses, and make decisions that affect parts of the story and its ending.

Zombies includes the Dark Aether storyline and Outbreak
Zombies starts with Die Maschine, where a Requiem team investigates a supernatural outbreak connected to an abandoned facility. Later updates expanded the story through maps including Firebase Z, Mauer der Toten, and Forsaken.
Black Ops Cold War also introduced Outbreak, which moved Zombies into larger areas built around objectives rather than keeping every match inside a traditional round-based map. Squads travel between regions, complete objectives, gather upgrades, and decide whether to continue into harder encounters or attempt to extract.
Up to four players can team up in Zombies, using weapons, Perks, and Pack-a-Punch upgrades as they work through each match.
