Disney Dreamlight Valley Will Receive Two Major Free Updates Later This Year

Disney Dreamlight Valley will close out 2026 with two free updates, and both bring familiar Disney characters into the Valley. Gameloft used its D23 panel to confirm Oogie Boogie for a Halloween event and Lilo for the holiday season, giving players two character updates before the year ends.
The roadmap follows the Pixel Perfect update and Honeyglow Woods Adventure Pack, but the next two character drops are listed separately from the next paid expansion. Oogie Boogie is planned for September, while Lilo arrives in December. Gameloft also teased The Keepsake Sea for later this year.
Gameloft's updated roadmap places Oogie Boogie in September and Lilo in December, with both listed as free updates. The schedule gives Disney Dreamlight Valley one character addition for Halloween and another for the holiday period. Exact release dates have not been announced for either update.
The roadmap separates those character updates from The Keepsake Sea. Gameloft revealed the paid content during the same D23 panel and described it as the game's fourth expansion pack. A teaser also offered an early look at a new character waiting inside the expansion.
Gameloft has kept several details about the free updates under wraps, including new items, Star Paths, and full quest lists. The D23 presentation focused mainly on which characters are coming and when. September's Halloween event is now the next major free addition on the roadmap.
Oogie Boogie will join the Valley after players take part in a new Halloween event built around his arrival. The Nightmare Before Christmas villain becomes a villager once the event is completed. His addition makes another major Disney villain into the game's growing character roster.
D23 described the September release as a Halloween takeover centered on Oogie Boogie. Gameloft has not shared the event's full quest list, rewards, or exact release date. The announcement does confirm that players must take part in the event before Oogie moves into the Valley.
Official roadmap artwork puts Oogie Boogie at the center of the September update, making the Halloween connection easy to spot. The event gives his arrival more than a normal character introduction. Gameloft will share more details as the September update gets closer.
Lilo will arrive in December as the final free update of 2026, finally reuniting her with Stitch inside Disney Dreamlight Valley. Gameloft is building the holiday update around bringing the two characters back together. The D23 reveal described Lilo as Stitch's sweetest holiday gift.
Gameloft has not said whether Lilo will arrive through a Realm, Valley quests, or another unlock method. D23 only confirmed that the update will focus on her long-awaited reunion with Stitch. No new biome, Star Path, or additional villager has been announced for December.
Players will have other content before Lilo reaches the Valley, including the Hannah Montana and Lizzie McGuire Premium Shop collection launching on August 19. The Keepsake Sea expansion is also planned for later in 2026. Lilo remains the final confirmed free character update on the current roadmap.
