Fallout 4 Adds Two New Creations as Fathomless Expansion Targets 2027

October 22, 2026·4 min read

Fallout 4 introduces FEVer Dreams and Command Override, featuring horror quests and robot hacking, while Fathomless brings underwater exploration in 2027.

Bethesda has revealed three new community-developed expansions for Fallout 4 as part of its Fallout Day 2026 celebrations, bringing additional quests, gameplay mechanics and locations to the RPG nearly 11 years after its original release.

The new content includes FEVer Dreams, a free psychological horror adventure featuring the game's original protagonist voice actors, and Command Override, a paid expansion built around hacking and controlling robots. A third project, Fathomless, will take players beneath the Atlantic Ocean in 2027.

All three projects are part of Bethesda's Verified Creations program. They are developed by independent creators with Bethesda's support rather than being new DLC produced directly by Bethesda Game Studios.

The first expansion, FEVer Dreams, launched on October 20 as a free download through Fallout 4's Creations menu. Developed by Kinggath Creations and presented by Bethesda Game Studios, it introduces a horror-themed adventure set inside a mysterious military research facility.

The story begins when the Sole Survivor investigates the reactivation of Camp Jefferson, a military base hiding dangerous research. Players eventually find themselves trapped without their equipment and exposed to a hallucination-inducing strain of the Forced Evolutionary Virus (FEV).

Escaping the facility requires solving puzzles, surviving combat encounters and searching for a cure before the infection takes hold. The dungeon uses an escape-room-style structure, combining environmental challenges with limited resources and unsettling visions.

One of the expansion's biggest additions is the return of Courtenay Taylor and Brian T. Delaney, who voiced the female and male protagonists in the original Fallout 4.

Both actors reprise their roles for new conversations involving the Sole Survivor's spouse. These encounters explore memories and hallucinations, bringing a familiar part of the game's original story into the new adventure.

The expansion also includes new weapons, clothing and armor. Players can begin the quest by finding a Mister Gutsy robot in the market area of Diamond City.

Command Override introduces robot hacking and a new RobCo facility

Bethesda's second featured Creation, Command Override, launched on October 21. Developed by Hobgoblin Studios, the paid expansion introduces a robot-hacking mechanic that allows players to take direct control of machines.

Instead of simply fighting hostile robots, players can see through their eyes and operate them remotely. The new ability provides a different approach to combat and exploration, allowing players to use robotic equipment against enemies.

The adventure takes place inside a new RobCo headquarters facility in Boston. Players investigate technology connected to an experimental device known as the Mini-Boy while confronting a Gunner faction led by General Hayes.

The expansion also introduces the experimental Beam Gun, which fires a continuous laser beam and features a Mini-Boy display that provides weapon information and supports robot hacking. Additional content includes new equipment, puzzles and a boss encounter tied to the facility's research. The quest begins at Wattz Consumer Electronics.

Command Override is available through the Creations menu for 500 Credits. Hobgoblin Studios also produced a live-action trailer for the expansion, marking a first for a team participating in Bethesda's Verified Creators program.

Fathomless takes Fallout 4 beneath the Atlantic Ocean in 2027

The largest upcoming addition is Fathomless, a cosmic horror expansion being developed by Zone Zero Creations for release in 2027. Unlike the two available Creations, Fathomless will introduce a new underwater setting. Its story follows the Sole Survivor as they investigate an ambitious expedition launched before the Great War.

The search leads to a mysterious crater deep beneath the Atlantic Ocean, where players will explore submerged environments, abandoned facilities and shipwrecks while uncovering the expedition's fate.

The expansion promises a fully voiced storyline, new underwater areas and more than five unique enemy NPCs. Its focus on isolation and disturbing discoveries introduces a different kind of horror from the Commonwealth's familiar wasteland encounters.

Bethesda has not announced an exact release date or pricing for Fathomless, although its planned 2027 launch places it alongside the Fallout franchise's 30th anniversary.

The three Creations are part of Bethesda's continued efforts to support community-made content in Fallout 4. The expanded Creations system arrived in November 2025 alongside Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition, giving verified creators a way to release additional adventures, equipment and gameplay features through the game's official content hub.
