GTA 6 Alleged Leaker Threatens to Release Full Story Mode Before Launch

October 12, 2026·3 min read

A person using the name Cyberleek claims to possess a complete playable build of Grand Theft Auto VI and threatens to release its story mode if a cryptocurrency reaches a $30 million market capitalization. Rockstar has not verified the claim, and previously shared footage does not establish access to the full game.

A person claiming to have access to a playable build of Grand Theft Auto VI has threatened to release the game's complete story mode before its November 19, 2026 launch.

The individual, known online as Cyberleek, claims to possess a version of the game that can be played through to the ending. However, there is no independent confirmation that the person has access to the full campaign.

The threat follows several months of alleged GTA 6 footage appearing online. The latest claim is also tied to the promotion of a cryptocurrency, raising further questions about its credibility.

In a statement reported by PC Gamer on October 10, Cyberleek threatened to upload the supposed game build if a cryptocurrency associated with the account reaches a market capitalization of $30 million. The individual claims the build contains the complete single-player story, including its ending and credits. The account also offered to show specific footage to anyone questioning the claim.

Cyberleek presented an alternative demand directed at Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games' parent company. The individual called for a physical disc release of GTA 6 and a public apology, suggesting that meeting those demands could prevent the alleged leak.

Rockstar has already announced a boxed edition of GTA 6, but it will contain a digital download code rather than a game disc.

Neither the existence of the complete build nor the ability to release it has been verified. The cryptocurrency target also gives the account a financial incentive to attract attention, regardless of whether the threat is genuine.

Previous gameplay footage does not confirm access to the full campaign

Cyberleek has shared several videos presented as unauthorized GTA 6 gameplay since August. One earlier video appeared to show protagonist Jason flying over Vice City before shooting a specific message into a wall. PC Gamer examined the footage and suggested that the interaction could indicate access to a playable development build.

More recently, the account released approximately 25 minutes of footage featuring Jason and Lucia. The material appeared to show gameplay interactions and character animations, although its authenticity and development status have not been independently established.

Even if some of the footage originated from a genuine build, that would not prove the individual possesses the finished game or its complete story. It remains unclear whether Cyberleek has ongoing access to development materials, an older build, or anything beyond the videos already released.

Rockstar has not confirmed the alleged leak

Rockstar and Take-Two have not publicly verified Cyberleek's claims or announced any response to the latest threat.

The distinction is important because releasing a complete campaign would be considerably different from sharing isolated gameplay clips. It could expose major story developments before the game's official launch, although there is currently no verified evidence that such a release is possible.

According to Rockstar's official website, Grand Theft Auto VI remains scheduled for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game follows Jason and Lucia through Vice City and the fictional state of Leonida. Rockstar has continued revealing its story and setting through official trailers and promotional material.

Until stronger evidence emerges, Cyberleek's statement remains an unverified threat rather than confirmation of another major security breach or a complete playable copy of GTA 6.
