Helldivers 2 Adds Poisonous Terminids as Bug Caves Expand to More Biomes
Arrowhead's November 3 update adds two venomous Terminid variants and expands underground caves across the Galactic Map.
Helldivers 2 has introduced two new Terminid enemies, the Noxious Scavenger and Noxious Spewer, alongside an expansion of underground bug caves. The additions arrived on November 3, 2026, bringing poisonous attacks and new dangers to Terminid missions.
Arrowhead Game Studios confirmed the changes, which give players two different threats to handle. The smaller Scavengers rely on speed, while Spewers use webs to slow down Helldivers before attacking.
Noxious Scavengers and Spewers introduce new threats

Noxious Scavengers resemble regular Scavengers but move much faster and attack more frequently. Their bites inflict poison, making them dangerous when several enemies close in at once. They are relatively fragile, however, and Arrowhead recommends shotguns, flamethrowers, and grenades to clear them out.
Noxious Spewers are considerably larger and combine poisonous bites with a Web Spit attack that prevents players from sprinting. Their increased movement speed also makes escaping difficult once they get close.
The Spewer's head has medium armor, but its abdomen is completely unarmored. Destroying the web-filled sac triggers an explosion that traps nearby Helldivers and Terminids, creating another hazard for squads fighting at close range.
Poison damages health and can prevent sprinting

Both enemies introduce a poison effect that becomes more dangerous depending on its severity. Light poisoning gradually drains health and blurs vision, while heavy poisoning increases damage over time and prevents players from sprinting.
A new HUD icon shows when a Helldiver has been poisoned. Stims can cure the effect, giving squads a way to recover before the damage becomes more serious.
Terminid caves can now appear in deserts and frozen biomes
Underground Terminid caves are no longer restricted to a small number of worlds. Arrowhead has expanded their possible locations to additional biomes, including deserts and frozen environments.
These caves feature narrow tunnels, limited visibility, and blind corners where enemies can approach before players notice them. Fast-moving Noxious Scavengers and Spewers are particularly dangerous in these enclosed areas, where squads have less space to retreat.
Arrowhead recommends bringing close-range weapons and staying together when entering the tunnels. Keeping spare stims available is also important, especially when poisoned teammates cannot sprint away from approaching enemies.
