Helldivers 2 Level Cap Increasing to 300

Arrowhead Game Studios is increasing the Helldivers 2 level cap from 150 to 300, giving veteran players more ranks to earn.

Veteran players will keep the XP they earned after reaching level 150. The game has continued tracking that experience in the background, and it will be applied when the new cap goes live.

Banked XP will count immediately

Players who kept completing missions after hitting level 150 have already been earning progress toward the new ranks. Once the update arrives, Helldivers 2 will recalculate total XP and place each player at the correct level.

Some long-time players could therefore jump through several levels as soon as the change goes live. Arrowhead used a similar system when the level cap increased from 50 to 150 in April 2024.

Level 300 will take longer to reach

Arrowhead says reaching level 300 will require more than twice the experience needed to reach level 150. The new cap is designed as a longer-term progression target.

Most important weapons, Stratagems, and equipment are unlocked much earlier. Newer players will still be able to build useful loadouts without reaching the higher levels.

New ranks and titles are coming

The increase will add more ranks and titles between level 150 and the new maximum. Arrowhead has not revealed the full list or confirmed which levels will unlock each title.

Players who have been stuck at level 150 will now have more ranks to earn from their mission XP.

Progression changes are still expanding

Arrowhead previously said it wanted to improve both personal and community progression rather than simply adding more levels.Helldivers 2 has since introduced Galactic War Campaigns, while Personal Campaign Progression is also planned. That system will give players individual reward tracks tied to Galactic War Campaigns.

Arrowhead has confirmed the level 300 cap but has not announced when it will arrive. Players can keep earning XP past level 150, and that progress will carry over when the update goes live.
