Longplay Studios has revealed Terminus: Zombie Survivors 2, an open-world zombie survival sequel that adds online co-op. Announced on September 2, the new game is in development for PC and currently listed as coming soon on Steam, with no release date confirmed.
The sequel marks a major shift from the original Terminus: Zombie Survivors, replacing its procedurally generated map of individual areas with a fully open world. Longplay Studios is also expanding the survival formula with cooperative play, building, farming, harsher environmental conditions, and more varied encounters with both zombies and other survivors.

The sequel moves away from the original game's procedurally generated map of individual areas and into a fully open town and surrounding countryside. Locations include supermarkets, hospitals, motels, churches, forests, roads, and other abandoned areas that can be searched for food, tools, and materials.
Players can use the supplies they find to craft equipment, build a shelter, and grow food as they prepare for the journey toward the Terminus.
Cold, winter weather, and darkness are major survival pressures in the sequel. Players will need to keep warm and rely on limited light when travelling after dark, while the reveal also shows harsher weather conditions including rain and snow.
Marauders can appear on the roads, while some survivors are willing to trade instead of fight.

Terminus: Zombie Survivors 2 brings back the idea that a character's life before the outbreak affects how they survive afterward. Longplay Studios has confirmed occupations including firefighter, nurse, teacher, bus driver, and police officer, with each character's past life affecting how they approach survival.
Zombie encounters can range from a single infected inside a building to streets packed with them, while the Steam description also teases much larger creatures waiting in the fog.
The Terminus itself returns as the sequel's central destination. A railway leads out of town toward the safe zone at the end of the tracks.
Online co-op is another major addition, allowing players to make the journey toward the Terminus with friends while solo play remains supported.
Players can divide responsibilities across the group, with different people handling tasks such as cooking, maintaining defenses, or watching for threats. Each additional survivor also means another person who needs food and other resources.
Terminus: Zombie Survivors 2 remains in development, with Longplay Studios planning to share more updates as work on the sequel continues.
