01Overview
Halo 3: ODST is a first-person shooter developed by Bungie and set during the events of Halo 2. Players take control of the Rookie, an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper separated from his squad after landing in Covenant-occupied New Mombasa. Much of the campaign is spent exploring the darkened city, searching for clues that reveal what happened to the other squad members. Finding these clues triggers flashback missions where players control different ODSTs during earlier battles. Without Spartan armor, combat feels more vulnerable than in the main Halo games, with health packs and careful positioning playing a larger role. Halo 3: ODST also introduced Firefight, a cooperative survival mode where players face increasingly difficult waves of Covenant enemies.
