Halo: Campaign Evolved is a faithful yet modernized remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s campaign, rebuilt from the ground up by Halo Studios. The original story returns with high-definition visuals, updated cinematics, refined controls and redesigned environments while preserving the foundations of Master Chief’s first adventure. After crash-landing on the mysterious Halo ringworld alongside his AI companion Cortana, Master Chief must help stranded human forces survive against the Covenant while uncovering the installation’s dangerous secrets. Combat retains Halo’s mix of gunplay, grenades and vehicles while expanding the arsenal with nine additional weapons from across the series. Players can also hijack enemy vehicles and pilot a Wraith tank for the first time in the Combat Evolved campaign. The remake adds three new prequel missions featuring Master Chief and Sergeant Avery Johnson, introducing new environments, enemies and story content. Dozens of optional Skulls can modify weapons, enemies and other gameplay conditions for additional replayability. The full campaign supports solo play, two-player split-screen on consoles and online cooperative play for up to four players with cross-platform play and shared progression.
