007 First Light's First Major Patch Is Huge on PS5
007 First Light has received its first major update, but PS5 players face a much longer download than everyone else. Version 1.1.0 weighs 23.84GB on Sony's console, while every Xbox and PC version stays below 4GB. The content is the same, yet PlayStation owners will spend far more time getting it installed.
The July 24 update adds two TacSim Escalations, three weapons, a new outfit, and fixes for more than 200 reported problems. It is the first patch to go beyond the hotfixes released after launch, giving returning players new missions while cleaning up several issues that could block progress or stop rewards from unlocking.
The PS5 Download Is Hard to Ignore

PS5 players are downloading almost 24GB, compared with 1.39GB on Xbox Series X|S, 3.6GB on Steam, 3.99GB through the Epic Games Store, and 2.24GB on Microsoft PC. No reason has been given for the gap, so players with slower internet or limited storage have no clear explanation for the extra weight.
Different platforms often package changed files in different ways, which can turn a small patch into a much larger download without increasing the final install size by the same amount. That may be what happened here, but the result is still awkward for PS5 owners who expected to jump straight into the new content after work or school.
The large file does not bring any exclusive PlayStation features. Every supported platform receives the same TacSim missions, rewards, and general fixes, although PS5 gets direct repairs for aiming and online stability. Anyone planning a session should start the download early, especially if automatic updates are turned off or console space is already tight.

Two TacSim Missions Add New Routes

The Workshop places Bond inside a quiet industrial area with seven enemies between him and the exit. Its three tiers add new rules as players move forward, pushing them to adjust their route instead of repeating one easy solution. The setup suits TacSim's focus on stealth, planning, and fast decisions when a clean approach falls apart.
Extraction Avenues begins after Bond has secured important data and needs to escape before security closes in. Players have to study the layout, find a safe route, and deal with tougher conditions across three stages. Both missions are smaller than campaign chapters, but their changing rules give them more replay value than a single fixed challenge.
New rewards give regular TacSim players a reason to keep raising their easiest level. The Stormberg 50'cal handgun, DRX-2 Machine Pistol, DRS-7 Silenced SMG, and Diamond in the Rough outfit each cost 3,000 Intel once their required rank is reached. That keeps the items tied to play rather than handing everything out after installation.
Launch Problems Are Finally Being Fixed
The patch repairs achievement and challenge bugs that stopped some players from receiving rewards after meeting the requirements. Collectibles tied to legacy items, intel, mementos, and cards should now register correctly, while several TacSim and campaign challenges have also been fixed. That should remove some of the frustration around completing a full save.
PS5 players receive fixes for aiming down sights, breaking after opening system menus and online sessions disconnecting after long play periods. Other changes cover crashes, stuck characters, broken checkpoints, missing prompts, unresponsive TacSim menus, fast-playing cutscenes, subtitle errors, and audio that could become far louder than intended.
More support is already planned through the Year One roadmap, including new TacSim scenarios, weapons, gadget upgrades, enemies, cosmetics, returning vehicles, and leaderboard challenges. Version 1.1.0 gives that roadmap a useful start, but the next update needs a much friendlier PS5 download if it expects players to return just as quickly.
