PS Plus Premium adds one-hour trial for 007 First Light
PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers can now try the full 007 First Light for one hour on PS5, and their progress carries over to the full game.
PlayStation Plus Premium members can now try IO Interactive’s 007 First Light for one hour on PlayStation 5, giving subscribers a short opportunity to sample the James Bond adventure before deciding whether to buy it.
The trial is available through the PlayStation Store and includes the full game rather than a separate demo build. Sony says progress and trophies earned during PlayStation Plus game trials carry over if players later purchase the full release.
The James Bond trial only lasts one hour

The main limitation is its length. PlayStation lists 007 First Light as a one-hour full-game trial, meaning Premium subscribers have considerably less time than some other trials available through the service.
Access is also restricted to the highest PlayStation Plus tier in regions where Premium is offered. Extra and Essential subscribers do not receive game trials as part of their memberships, so the offer is not a completely free promotion for every PS5 owner.
The timer gives players enough time to see part of IO Interactive’s approach to Bond, but it is unlikely to cover much of the full campaign. Players interested in continuing beyond the trial will need to purchase the game.
007 First Light tells a new Bond origin story

007 First Light follows a 26-year-old James Bond before he becomes the established 007 seen in later adventures. After a heroic act earns him a place in MI6’s revived Double 0 program, Bond becomes involved in a mission surrounding a rogue agent and a conspiracy threatening the organization.
IO Interactive has built the game as a third-person action-adventure combining stealth, direct combat, gadgets and vehicle sequences. Players can approach some encounters quietly or aggressively, carrying over some of the flexible design philosophy associated with the studio’s Hitman games.
The story is original rather than an adaptation of a particular James Bond film. Familiar characters including M, Q and Moneypenny appear alongside new additions created specifically for the game.
Progress carries over to the full game
Sony’s broader Game Trial system allows progress and earned trophies to transfer when a subscriber buys the corresponding game. That makes the one-hour trial effectively the beginning of a normal playthrough rather than a disposable demo save.
007 First Light originally launched for PlayStation 5 on May 27, 2026, with the standard edition priced at $69.99 in the US. The PS5 version also supports DualSense haptic feedback, adaptive trigger effects and PS5 Pro enhancements.
The new trial gives Premium subscribers a lower-commitment way to test IO Interactive’s take on Bond, although the one-hour limit means players will need to make that decision quickly.

007 First Light is a thrilling espionage action-adventure game from IO Interactive. Players follow James Bond as a young, resourceful, and sometimes reckless recruit in MI6's training program and discover an origin story of the world's most famous spy.
