Co-Op Fantasy Roguelite Forsworn Launches on Steam September 10

Forsworn will launch on Steam on September 10, giving players a new turn-based fantasy roguelite built for both solo play and online co-op. Developer and publisher Resummon Studios has confirmed support for groups of up to four players, with each person able to act during the same turn rather than waiting through a traditional multiplayer turn order.

Resummon Studios previously listed a September 17 release date in June, but the game's current Steam listing has moved the launch forward to September 10.

The game follows a party of resurrected heroes fighting through a realm caught in a war between gods. Losing a run sends the party back to begin again, while progression carries into later attempts through hero development and new build options.

Resummon Studios is using simultaneous turns to keep co-op battles moving. Up to four players can control heroes together, with everyone choosing and carrying out actions during the same turn rather than waiting for each party member to finish individually.

Forsworn is built around combining hero abilities, so one character can help set up another instead of everyone simply dealing damage on their own.

Every action also contributes to Ultimate Charge, including attacks, spells, and defensive moves. Once enough charge has been built, each hero can use a different Ultimate Ability with effects ranging from damaging enemies to supporting the rest of the party.

The full game will include six heroes, with three subclasses available for each one. Those subclasses can change how a character plays, giving the same hero different roles depending on the party and the build being used.

Resummon Studios has also listed more than 200 abilities and over 150 items. Abilities have their own upgrade paths, and some upgrades introduce new mechanics instead of simply increasing a damage or stat value.

The large ability pool is designed around party combinations. Players can build around effects shared between heroes, then adjust those combinations as new items and upgrades appear during a run.

Players do not have to wait until September to try the combat. A free Forsworn demo is available through Steam and supports the same solo and online co-op approach as the full game.

The full version is currently scheduled to arrive on PC through Steam on September 10, 2026. Resummon Studios has not announced console versions.
