GTA 6 extended look is coming on August 27

Rockstar Games has officially announced a new extended look at Grand Theft Auto VI for August 27, 2026. The presentation will premiere on Netflix at 3 p.m. ET before becoming available through Rockstar’s YouTube channel and the GTA 6 website at 9 p.m. ET.

Rockstar has not said exactly what the presentation will contain or how long it will run. The announcement only describes it as an “extended look,” leaving gameplay footage, story details, and other possible reveals unconfirmed.

Netflix will show the GTA 6 presentation six hours before its wider release. The streaming service already has a dedicated page for Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, confirming its August 27 premiere.

The video will then become available for everyone through Rockstar’s official YouTube channel and the GTA 6 website later that evening. Players without Netflix will therefore still be able to watch it on the same day.

Rockstar has not labelled the presentation as Trailer 3 or a dedicated gameplay showcase. That makes its exact format one of the biggest unanswered questions heading into August 27.

The studio’s previous GTA 6 video, Trailer 2, arrived in May 2025 and focused heavily on protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. It also showed more of Vice City and the surrounding state of Leonida.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar pushed the game back from its previous May 26 release date, saying it needed more time to finish and polish the game.

A PC version still has not been announced. Rockstar’s current GTA 6 page only lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as launch platforms.

Pre-orders for GTA 6 opened in June, giving Rockstar several months to reveal more of the game before release. The August presentation will be the next confirmed look at GTA 6 ahead of its November launch.

Rockstar captured its second trailer using a standard PlayStation 5. The studio said the footage was split evenly between gameplay and cutscenes. The upcoming extended look could show more of how the game runs on current console hardware.
