GTA 6 pre-load begins November 10 with up to 212GB required

GTA 6 preloading begins November 10 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with up to 212GB of storage needed before its November 19 launch
Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI pre-loading will begin on November 10, giving digital buyers nine days to download the game before its November 19 launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The developer says the pre-load will require up to 212GB of storage depending on the device. That figure should be treated as the maximum space required rather than a universal final install size, but players with limited console storage may need to clear room before downloads begin.
PS5 pre-load starts at midnight in each region

PlayStation 5 players who have pre-ordered a digital copy can begin downloading GTA 6 at midnight local time on November 10. That means the pre-load rolls out region by region rather than beginning simultaneously around the world.
Sony recommends clearing at least 212GB of storage before starting the download. Automatic downloads can also be used if the relevant PS5 settings are enabled and the console is either switched on or left in Rest Mode.
The November 10 date is earlier than the November 12 timing previously shown in some Rockstar information. Rockstar’s latest support page and Newswire announcement now identify November 10 as the official digital pre-load date.
Xbox Series X|S gets one global start time
Xbox players will receive a different rollout. Instead of using midnight in each region, Rockstar says pre-loading begins globally at 12 a.m. GMT on November 10 for Xbox Series X|S.
That works out to 7 p.m. EST and 4 p.m. PST on November 9 in the United States. Players in India can start at 5:30 a.m. IST on November 10, while Central Europe gets access at 1 a.m. CET and Japan at 9 a.m. JST.
The different schedules mean Xbox owners in the Americas will technically be able to start downloading several hours before November 10 arrives locally, while PS5 owners must wait for midnight in their own time zone.
Boxed copies arrive after digital pre-loading begins

Rockstar says code-in-box versions for both consoles should begin appearing at retailers on November 12. These physical packages do not contain a game disc, with buyers instead receiving a code used to download GTA 6 digitally.
That means players buying digitally have the earliest opportunity to start the large download. Anyone choosing the boxed version will have a shorter window between receiving a code and the November 19 release.
GTA 6 launches on November 19
Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not announced a PC release date, keeping the initial launch limited to current-generation consoles.
The confirmed November 10 pre-load date gives players more than a week to prepare for one of the year’s largest releases. With up to 212GB required, checking available storage before the download window opens may be just as important as pre-ordering the game itself.
