Hell Clock's Free Journey of Miracles Update Adds New Combat Challenges and Powerful Relics

Rogue Snail has released a major free update for Hell Clock, introducing new combat challenges, powerful buffs, additional Relics and an underground area to explore. Called Journey of Miracles, Update 2.1 launched on October 20, 2026, and is available on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Android.

The update expands the game's Journeys system, which takes inspiration from seasonal content in action RPGs such as Diablo and Path of Exile. Unlike traditional time-limited seasons, however, Journeys remain permanently available. Players can revisit older content or combine multiple Journeys without worrying about expiration dates.

Rogue Snail introduced Journeys in July 2026 with Journey of Nightmares, which added more than 80 Relics, 12 biomes and the Endless Nightmares mode. Each Journey introduces different gameplay mechanics, rewards and challenges. Players choose which Journeys to activate when creating a new save, allowing them to customize their experience.

Journey of Miracles builds on that system with new combat encounters and character progression options. Players can experience its content independently or enable it alongside Journey of Nightmares.

Both Journeys remain available permanently, so returning players do not need to complete the new challenges within a limited seasonal window.

Defiled Sanctums reward difficult battles with Divine Blessings

One of the biggest additions in Journey of Miracles is Defiled Sanctums, a new challenge accessed through Tainted Statues found while exploring.

Interacting with a statue allows players to accept an oath and enter a combat arena. These encounters feature waves of enemies, environmental hazards and additional modifiers that make battles more unpredictable.

The update introduces over 20 enemy horde combinations and 13 Major Taints, which alter the conditions players face during these challenges. Successfully cleansing a Defiled Sanctum rewards players with Divine Blessings. These powerful buffs remain active for the rest of the run and can significantly change how a character performs in combat.

Rogue Snail has added 19 Divine Blessings, offering effects that support different playstyles. For example, Curupira causes defeated enemies to explode and damage nearby opponents. Another Blessing, St. Paul, grants a temporary shrine buff whenever the player uses a potion.

These rewards encourage players to experiment with different strategies depending on the Blessings they acquire during each run.

New Relic systems and Underground Crypt expand build options

Journey of Miracles also introduces two new ways to customize character builds through the Relic system. Manifested Miracles turn major Constellation nodes into Unique Relics. This allows players to combine powerful effects that were previously difficult or impossible to use together.

Miracle Droplets provide another option by taking a random intrinsic attribute from a Unique Relic and condensing it into a smaller Relic. These occupy the same amount of inventory space as Small Relics, giving players more flexibility when assembling their builds.

The update also includes three community-inspired Unique Relics. Players who own the paid Cursed War expansion receive six additional Unique Relics designed to support new combat combinations. Exploration has been expanded with Underground Crypt, a new Act 1 biome featuring additional enemies and a miniboss called Profane Incarnation.

Beyond the new content, Rogue Snail has introduced balance adjustments, bug fixes and interface improvements. Players can now view Devotion Affinity information when examining Relics, while new icons identify which Journey specific items belong to.

Journey of Miracles is available now as a free update for existing Hell Clock owners across its supported platforms.
