Ice Poseidon has criticized the new Best Cozy Game Streamer category introduced for The Streamer Awards 2026, saying he would "hate" to win it because he was unsure what the award was supposed to represent.
The Kick streamer reacted to the category during a livestream after coming across this year's Streamer Awards lineup. His criticism focused on the meaning of "cozy" and how it applies to streamers rather than the games they play.
Ice immediately questioned the category after seeing its name.
"I would hate to win the Best Cozy Game Streamer," he said before asking what being a cozy streamer actually means.
He then tried to work out whether the award referred primarily to creators who play cozy games or streamers whose broadcasts have a relaxed atmosphere regardless of what they are playing.
During the discussion, Ice mentioned fellow Kick streamer Nick White as someone who could fit his interpretation of the category. He described the kind of stream viewers might leave running on a second monitor or watch without needing to follow every moment closely.
His comments were aimed at the category itself rather than any creators who could eventually be nominated.
QTCinderella described Best Cozy Game Streamer as an award for streamers who create a relaxing atmosphere while playing cozy games.
That gives the category two parts: the games themselves and the atmosphere created around them.
Ice's reaction came from the broader wording of the title, which he initially interpreted as describing the streamer rather than the type of content being recognized.
The category is one of the additions to The Streamer Awards 2026 as QTCinderella expands the awards for this year's ceremony.
Applications for The Streamer Awards 2026 are already open, with creators able to put themselves forward for categories before community nominations are finalized.
Best Cozy Game Streamer joins the lineup as a dedicated award for a style of gaming content that previously did not have its own category.
Ice has not suggested that he expects to be nominated for the award. His comments came as a reaction to discovering the category and trying to understand how the organizers define a "cozy" streamer.
