Rust’s August update connects monuments across the entire map

Facepunch Studios has released Rust’s August 2026 update, Power Trip, which lets players restore monuments and bring power back across the island. Players can now restore the Power Plant to activate new features at several locations.

The update also adds a player-triggered Satellite Crash event, crude oil pumping, recycler changes, Airfield functions, balance updates, and quality-of-life improvements. Power Trip is live now alongside Rust’s August force wipe.

Players can restore the Power Plant using new Heavy Fuses found as loot. Adding enough fuses brings different parts of the electrical grid online and unlocks more features as power levels increase.

Roadside power lines can then supply electricity to player circuits, and the poles are now climbable. Several monuments also depend on the restored grid.

Outdoor green recyclers now run at 50% efficiency instead of 60%. Restoring enough power returns them to 60%, while maximum power also speeds up recycling.

The Power Plant gains a red recycler with 75% efficiency when fully powered. Supermarket freezers can produce chilled food, while Water Treatment can restore water through roadside pipes.

Launch Site now contains a Satellite Control Computer that can be activated with an aiming module. Players choose a crash location before sending a satellite toward the map.

The satellite can be seen falling across the server, giving other players time to reach the area. Its special loot crates can only be opened after they cool down.

Large Oil Rig can pump crude oil toward Dome for 20 minutes once the Power Plant is active. Small Oil Rig can do the same at half the rate, and both systems can run together.

Airfield now has two powered terminals inside its updated control tower. One increases airdrop frequency, while the other can call a Chinook supply crate near the runway.

High external walls now have a fixed 20% upkeep cost, making large compounds more expensive. Water well vendors also carry less stock and restock more slowly.

The Wolf Headdress now requires a Tier 1 Workbench, while shields can be repositioned with a new keybind. Power Trip is available now on PC.
