Splatoon Raiders Switch 2 Launch Update Is Out Now
Splatoon Raiders is coming to the Switch 2, and the game already has a launch update planned to add changes and improvements for players from day one. Version 1.1.0 became available on July 22, one day before release, and players who plan to use any online feature will need to install it before joining a game.
The patch is small, but it sets the version everyone will use at launch. Nintendo has changed music in some scenes, fixed several unnamed bugs, and made the update required for online play. Local wireless and LAN groups also need matching versions, so friends should check their systems before starting co-op.
Version 1.1.0 Focuses On Launch Fixes

Nintendo has listed only two changes for version 1.1.0. Music has been adjusted in certain scenes, while several other bugs have been fixed to make the game run more smoothly. The notes do not identify the scenes or explain the bugs, so the effect may be easy to miss during a first playthrough.
There are no listed changes to weapons, missions, rewards, difficulty, or progression. That keeps the update focused on final launch cleanup rather than changing how Splatoon Raiders plays. Players should not expect new content or a large balance pass, and there is no sign that Nintendo has changed the structure of the main adventure.
The vague bug note leaves some questions, but small day-one patches often deal with problems found after a game is prepared for release. Nintendo has not warned about a serious issue, and save data will continue to work after version 1.1.0 is installed.

Co-Op Players Need The Same Update

Anyone using online play must download version 1.1.0 and have an active Nintendo Switch Online membership. The game can still be played alone, but its co-op mode supports up to four players online, giving groups a way to take on the Spirhalite Islands together instead of relying only on Deep Cut's computer-controlled support.
Local wireless and LAN play will stop working between updated and older copies. Every person in the group needs to be on the same version before a session begins, which is worth checking for players using physical copies or systems with automatic updates turned off. One missed download is enough to keep the group from connecting.
The update should install on its own when a Switch 2 is online and automatic software updates are enabled. Anyone who wants to confirm can highlight the game on the HOME Menu, open the options menu, and choose the internet update.
Larger Changes May Come After Launch
Splatoon Raiders is mainly a single-player action shooter, but its co-op support is a large part of the launch package. Players take the role of a mechanic working with Deep Cut, explore the Spirhalite Islands, fight waves of Salmonids, collect treasure, and build a stronger set of weapons and gadgets across repeated raids.
Early reviews have praised the fast ink combat, wide range of weapons, and strong upgrade systems, while some criticism has focused on repeated mission ideas and slower progress later in the game. Version 1.1.0 does not address those concerns, so Nintendo will need more information from players before deciding whether rewards, difficulty, or mission pacing need changes.
The first real test will come once a much larger group of players starts moving through the same missions and joining co-op sessions. If connection problems, reward gaps, or difficulty spikes appear, a later patch will need to explain the fixes clearly instead of hiding them inside another general adjustment note.
