Splatoon Raiders tops UK sales chart after two days

Splatoon Raiders has reached first place on the UK physical games chart during its launch week. The Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive claimed the top spot despite being available for only two days before the chart period ended on July 25.

Nintendo released the Splatoon spin-off on July 23. It debuted ahead of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced in second place and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream in third.

Raiders Leads Its First UK Chart

Splatoon Raiders was the only new release to enter the UK physical top 40 during the week. Its first-place debut gives Nintendo another chart leader during the early life of the Switch 2.

The ranking covers boxed game sales rather than digital purchases through the Nintendo eShop. It therefore does not reveal the game’s complete UK launch sales, but it gives an early view of demand for physical copies.

Other Nintendo games also remained in the top 10. Pokémon Pokopia finished sixth, while Mario Kart World dropped two places to eighth.

The Spin-Off Changes Splatoon’s Formula

Splatoon Raiders is the first spin-off in Nintendo’s colourful shooter series. Instead of focusing mainly on competitive multiplayer matches, it follows a mechanic exploring the Spirhalite Islands with Shiver, Frye and Big Man from Deep Cut.

Players complete raids, fight groups of Salmonids and return with loot used to improve their equipment and Hideout Ship. The game includes more than 100 weapons spread across 11 types, along with Speed, Power and Tactical ink tanks that support different builds.

Co-Op Supports Four Players

The adventure can be played alone or with up to three other players through online play or local wireless. Players can also join another person’s raid to earn weapons, gadget parts and other materials through Help Bonuses.

Each mission allows one Deep Cut member to support the player using an Exploration Bot. Shiver, Frye and Big Man have different Showstopper attacks that can damage enemies or help control crowded areas.

Splatoon Raiders Is A Switch 2 Exclusive

Splatoon Raiders is available only on Nintendo Switch 2 and has a download size of 13.1 GB. Online multiplayer requires a Nintendo Switch Online membership, while the single-player campaign can be played without a subscription.

Nintendo also released a Deep Cut amiibo triple pack alongside the game. The new Shiver, Frye and Big Man figures unlock extra outfits for the player’s mechanic when scanned in Splatoon Raiders.
