Team Liquid Alienware have won the 2026 LCS Summer Championship after defeating LYON 3-1 in the grand final on October 4. The result gives Liquid its sixth LCS title and sends the team to the 2026 League of Legends World Championship as North America's first seed.
Brandon "Josedeodo" Villegas was named Kia Finals MVP after helping Liquid take control of the series from the jungle. The championship also makes him the first Latin American player to win an LCS title.
Liquid built a 2-0 lead before LYON answered
Team Liquid took the first two games of the best-of-five, with Josedeodo playing Lee Sin and Qiyana as Liquid established an early advantage in the series. LYON prevented a sweep by winning Game 3, bringing the final back to 2-1.
Liquid closed the series in Game 4 rather than allowing the comeback to develop further. Morgan's Jax and another strong game from Josedeodo helped Liquid secure the third win and complete the 3-1 championship result.
The Finals MVP award went to Josedeodo after his performances across the series. Riot's LCS account confirmed the award following the final.
Team Liquid finished the playoffs with three straight series wins

Liquid entered the Summer playoffs after finishing the regular season 6-1. Its postseason began with a 3-0 victory over FlyQuest before a 3-1 win against Cloud9 sent the team directly to the grand final. Riot's official schedule confirms both results.
LYON reached the final through the lower bracket. After beating Shopify Rebellion 3-1, the team defeated Cloud9 by the same score on October 3 to earn another meeting with Liquid.
Liquid's victory ended LYON's chance to add the Summer title to the LCS Lock-In and Spring championships it had already won earlier in 2026.
Liquid and LYON start Worlds in the Swiss Stage while Cloud9 enters Play-In
The final also settled the order of North America's three Worlds representatives. Riot's LCS format gives the top three Summer teams places at Worlds, with Liquid finishing first, LYON second, and Cloud9 third.
Liquid and LYON will begin Worlds in the Swiss Stage as North America's top two seeds, while Cloud9 starts in the Play-In. The 2026 World Championship starts on October 15, with the wider event running through November 14.
For Team Liquid, the Summer trophy brings the organization's LCS total to six championships and gives its rebuilt 2026 roster the region's top seed heading into the final international tournament of the year.
