Atlus adds Nintendo Switch 2 to Persona 6 platform lineup
September 11, 2026·3 min read
Atlus has confirmed that Persona 6 is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, adding Nintendo’s console to the platforms announced for the next mainline entry in the RPG series. Nintendo announced the Switch 2 version during its September 9 Direct. Sega and Atlus confirmed it the following day.
No release date has been announced for Persona 6 on Switch 2 or any other platform. Atlus has also confirmed that a physical Switch 2 edition is planned, giving Nintendo players both physical and digital options when the game eventually arrives.
Switch 2 joins the existing Persona 6 platform lineup

When Atlus revealed Persona 6 at the Xbox Games Showcase in June, the confirmed platforms were Xbox Series X|S, Windows, PlayStation 5, and Steam, with the game also coming to Xbox Game Pass. Nintendo hardware was notably absent from that original announcement.
Nintendo has now confirmed the game for Switch 2. Sega lists Nintendo Switch 2 alongside the previously announced platforms, although the original Nintendo Switch has not been included.
Atlus has not said whether every version will launch at the same time. The game's release date remains listed as undecided, so there is currently no confirmed launch window for any platform.
Persona 6 will also get a physical Switch 2 release

Sega has also shared more about the game's physical release plans. Physical editions of Persona 6 are currently planned for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, while the Xbox, Windows, and Steam versions are listed without physical releases.
No pricing, editions, preorder bonuses, or Switch 2-specific features have been announced. Atlus has not yet said how the Switch 2 version will perform or how much storage it will need. It has also not confirmed whether the physical edition will include the full game on the card.
Atlus still has much more to reveal about Persona 6
Persona 6 is being developed by Atlus' P-Studio and will tell a new standalone story with a fresh cast and setting. The first teaser confirmed the return of the series' mix of everyday life, social relationships, supernatural events, and turn-based RPG combat, but many details remain under wraps.
The Switch 2 announcement came alongside confirmation that Persona 4 Revival will also reach Nintendo's newer hardware. That remake has a firm May 20, 2027 release date on Switch 2, while Persona 6 remains undated across every confirmed platform.
Nintendo players now know that Persona 6 is coming to Switch 2. Atlus still needs to reveal when it will launch and how the Switch 2 version will compare with the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC releases.
